I am testing a few HEVC files and whenever I try to play one on Xbox One, it refuses to direct play them when I have SRT subtitles. Some searching does not yield any specific result whether this is intended or not, since I believed the new Plex app could direct play streams even with external subtitles. Any clues?

I had posted this on Reddit and got a response from one of the employees, I figured I should post this here as well in case someone finds this thread:
Hi there. Playing back subtitles without burning them in is possible on the Xbox One, but the reason you’re seeing transcoding is because at the moment it is not possible to direct stream HEVC. Enabling “soft” subtitles requires us to remux them in with a new container (direct stream) but since the video codec is HEVC we cannot do this and have to fall back to a transcode. Hope that helps.
