Xbox One External Subtitles Stop Displaying During Playback

I do see that this issue has been reported previously, but I cannot find any current;y open threads for it - if there is one, please point me towards it.

The issue I’m having is that external subtitles will just stop displaying during playback. It seems to happen anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes into a 60 minute video file (I don’t have a specific timing for it yet, as it does seem to vary from video to video). I can press Left on the D-pad to skip backwards 10 seconds and restore the subtitles temporarily, but once they start disappearing they continue to do so roughly every 5 minutes until the video ends. It happens on every video, though I honestly couldn’t tell you when it started as I only recently started using my Xbox to run Plex (my NAS isn’t powerful enough to render external subs on my PS4, which is what I primarily used previously.)

I am happy to provide whatever logs are desired, I’d just need a brief rundown of which logs and where to find them to do so.

Hello, I have the same problem and it is annoying…

Same thing on my side on LG webOS TV and the issue is also on Chromecast v2. Multiple threads have been mentioning this issue for months (search for “subtitles stop” for instance) and I found none with an answer from Plex. So frustrating!

Hey @Moussa sorry to tag you in this but is there a chance we can get a statement on subtitles? Seems it’s not just limited to the Xbox player based on what @Thilas is saying, so maybe this isn’t the right forum anymore?

I have similar issue on Xbox One, is this really the expected behavior or it’s a known bug?

i havent seen this on my xbox one’s, you have server logs so can see?
What subtitles are you using srt, pgs, idx?
