mine is working ok but the shuffle issue is causing me to have to switch to Roku, i likes the xbox controlling everything and using the xbox remote and having it turn my tv and receiver off and on, i cant do this anymore due to this issue, I’m not sure what others are experiencing playback issues, if it helps, i have noticed in 5 or so PMS updates ago plex sotpped liking to pick and random port and i had to manually specify one like 34001 and have my router forward 34001 to 34000 to the ip of my PMS server, everything seems to play fine on the app, however the navigation is bad (up menus) and the shuffle only loads like the first 20 episodes in a 1000 tv episode list, i wish they would fix this issue, plex for my Roku works fine, in fact it works great, i have the ultra version, and it supports live tv as well with my tuner and outdoor antenna,
i have learned the hard way to switch plex updates to official releases even though I’m a pass member, they recently renamed this from plex pass updates. to beta updates which is actually correct, an update 3 versions ago would stop all my devices like 5 minutes before episode or movie end, they did fix this
while i hate the interface, i wish they would atleast fix the shuffle issue, i like to sleep with the tv on and shuffle works so well for this, please solve this issue and update I’m sure you are working on a better interface, well i hope to god you are, but give us a quick fix, this is irritating, like the person above said, its been forever and seems like plex for xbox is dead, can you fix this for ****** sake or just wrap the old interface into the new MS framework!!!
I don’t come to these forums much because I don’t have to. But I made a special trip to see who’s bright idea it was to screw this up. Ugly and unusable. What the hell happened?
Sorry to heap on here, but Plex Crew, please revert to the old code! This Xbox update is trash. Can’t find anything and much playback issues! Not to mention, I can’t find my cursor half the time!
I have to completely agree with all of the negative feedback over the XB1 app! What happened to all of the groupings you got for Movies also - “Recently released”, “top unwatched” etc - now I have to go through some convaluted filter process to do this! Revert the app back!

Unintended side confirmation: The nieces and nephews came over and used to love seeing which movies they could pick and skim through on our plea setup. They stopped and asked to just play a game cause they hated the change out and asked me to put the old one back lol.
I wish the developers would focus on the core apps and players over releasing new flashy bits like PlexAmp which have clearly diverted attention. oh well
Since there is all this negativity let me add my experience as someone who has used the xbox app since day one
Direct play - old app had terrible issues with having to reencode almost everything especially if you use subtitles…now one of my most consistent Direct stream clients
New UI - works great and take very little time to relearn how to use - being able to jump to remote servers under each type of library without having to switch is great for people who use more than one server
Issues - mostly the remote issues others have reported…rewinind and play/pause sometimes don’t trigger from remote commands and you need to instead pull out a controller to pull up a network
There does seem to be ui/art load in lag issues but they don’t follow any patterns so difficult to nail down

Man, if i had a nickel for every time I saw someone post this over the past year or 2…
But the clear priority is to “add features” not fix or stabilize their platform. I seriously doubt anyone was knocking the doors down saying, “I must have News integrated into my Plex!” Meanwhile the tvOS app doesn’t buffer properly, the new Xbox app is trash, the PS3 app is cripplingly slow (total waste of time developing IMHO), the list goes on and on.

Respectfully, this is where I find the most pain in the design. I’m not a fan of grouping the libraries, and even less so a fan of grouping other servers into this mix. I use more than one server, and would prefer to keep the experience separated as my friends aren’t as meticulous with their libraries as I am. It drives me nuts.

I have the same issue with other people’s servers as well.
The good thing about this UI is that it can be great if you run multiple servers as it can help you split the load. The libs you use the most will always be at the front which is a good thing as well!
I have separated documentaries from movies in different libraries, but for some reason it keeps presenting my documen. taries at the front eventhough I use movies alot more. Guess that still needs some work…
But all in all i’m happy with the new UI. It works, its fast, it direct streams almost everything and it has collections/related content easily accesable wich I use alot.
Just iron out the few bugs, fix navigation as alot of (other) users think their life experience has degraded by it, and do a little polish here and there

Same issue with it hitting other libraries as its default…it either seems to be alphabetical or random…should be a way to pin a library as the default for that type
I’m quite sick of hearing about the apps appearance being the issue. I’m over this and libraries too. What I’m still fking furious about is I can’t play a 4K movie from it still. I have xb1x and 55c7p. Everything in my house is wired. Why is it I can’t watch a 60mbps movie without it stuttering? The older one used to do this with my xbox1 and a 4K tv. Now both upgraded and get ■■■■ end of stick still.
This will not be tolerated much longer. I gave you fkers the benefit of the doubt to try and fix it but this was a mistake I see.
I got my 4k videos to play without the plex app through my tv looking for connected servers on network. Plays in 4k/hdr no problem. This app is a pos and no reason for my to pay for it anymore. I don’t watch ■■■■ when I’m away from home. Only locally. See ya plex pass
I must agree with all the statements here. I would just settle for being able to hit the “all” button to display all my movies. I can’t seem to figure out how to do that. I have a Fire TV, Apple TV, and Shield TV. This version is horrid. I just want one device to play all my apps and I can’t seem to find one. DirecTV Now is on Apple TV and Fire TV, not on Xbox or Shield, Spectrum TV is only on XBox, not the other 3. All apps like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon TV, etc seem to work best on Shield TV. First World problems, LOL.
FYI, you might be able to side load the Fire TV DirectTV Now onto your Shield. You just need to install the Amazon app store as well. I did that for the Dish Anywhere app (Fire TV only), works great on my Shield.
I generally use the Roku and prefer the layout on that. Having your libraries as a list on the left is just much more intuitive than bumping up and scrolling across. I also find it much easier (though I don’t doubt some of this is to do with experience) to select what I want to select.
The one thing I do like about the Xbox One app over the Roku is the actual movie pages containing headshots of performers and a quicker way to access other movies featuring the same actor. But that really is about it. Everything else about the app’s UI is poor to me.
I haven’t had many playback issues yet - indeed, unlike the Roku where I’ve had to disable direct play to get some videos working properly - the Xbox seems to handle it although I’ve noticed a little judder from time to time.

How did you get the TV to find connected servers? My new TV can only find my receiver but not my desktop PC.
