I cant tell you how much I realized the old app was great until this came out and I turned my Roku back on, xbox one had an ok plex app but was behind the curve compared to Roku, the Roku app “currently” has everything absolutely the way I want it on the Roku ultra (I think some older models wont support the new app) but essentially its the same as the xbox one’s old version but has a guide which allows me to use my dual tv tuner and outdoor antenna to watch OTA anywhere in the house without multiple antennas and poor reception from crummy indoor ones, it even added a “news” tab, nothing I really care for but its not like its a big old ad crapware add on, its useful from what I can tell. fire up a modern powerful Roku and hit plex, if you have a decked out plex server using every option available this is the best experience of all, I will be heartbroken if they bring this horrid update to it.
you know sometimes some things are just good, sometimes you got it so right it doesn’t need a makeover, the app in NO way looked dated to me, it was very very functional, and lets face it, plex caters to it literate people, not noobs, they did a bang up job, got dvr added, got live broadcast, fixed a lot of issues, have a great online EPG guide, have built a great server system (besides built in run as service option) and basically nailed every single thing we wanted all right down 95%, it was good, in fact it was great then…
a group of people get together and decide hey its time for an overhaul, lets make it look more modernish, da da da, and royally screw it all up, basically ruin it for xbox users, I seriously hope these pages and pages of complaints make them change their mind on overhauling every systems UI, people who have never posted on this forum at all have signed up just to complain or find out WTF happened.
dear plex, I would have rather you just sat on your butts and collected my money than waste it on developing this new interface, there was so much more that could have made the plex system even more useful to us, added support for more tuner cards, fixing and tweaking it to work perfect as much as it could, incorporating something behind the scenes on the server like media monkey for bulk music edits, creating a whole new library type for music videos, developing a mobile app that securely connects to the server’s management console, create better compression algorithms for DVR content, built in a video trimmer so we could go back and knock out advertisements, anything to broadenits functionality
and yet you narrow it down and nerf it, remember your catering to it professionals etc not the yuppies looking for the next flashy thing

BLah blah blah. do this do that, 9 pages. 9 pages, how about just throw it away and give the old app back?
Im just an extra person here to add the new app sucks big donkey balls.
All my videos, when they finally play, will stop playing after 20 mins, and whole app will blank out sometimes, and have all folders show zero content.
Used plex many years, never have i seen this terrible performance from an xb app.
Also, Before this app, notifications set to hide during video would do just that.
New app shows those notifications still, even though every one is set to hide during video.
(this is today, 9 november, so the update is a failure.)
