Xbox One Plex App Update News

Thanks for the update Dom!

So much for Microsoft moving away from Patch Tuesdays, lol.

Hey Dom, I don’t pretend to understand the finer details of what is required, however I see the latest server update has some further subtitle support.

I don’t suppose this takes us a step closer to native subtitle support on the xbox one? Like 1.3 close?

Cheers

+1 would be awesome, great to see it on Chromecast.

+1 for further subtitle support.

Right now all my m4v stuff with embedded subs forces my server to full transcode.

@Dom: are there any updates regarding subtitles in the last submitted version?

Thanks

Channel support should find its way into 1.3, assuming nothing is horribly broken in certification.

So just for clarification, does that mean channels are coming in the version you just submitted (v1.3.1)?
I’m asking because the way you had it written made it seem like it could possibly be in the next version, like 1.3.4, and not the one just submitted.

Right now my live TV is powered by a Plex Channel. I know it’s weeks out or longer for the next version. But that can enable me to hold off buying another Roku, if my Xbox One will have channels in the next version.

Thanks in advance!

@RandomNinjaAtk02 Channel support will indeed be in the next update

Subtitle support without transcoding too?

I’m afraid that won’t be in 1.3.1 but it is definitely high on the list for the next update

@ā€œDom Cā€ How about search? It would be nice to quickly find a movie I’m looking for rather than having to go through a huge list looking for it.

@ā€œDom Cā€ already confirmed that Search and Filters will be in 1.3.

I think you mean Sort and Filters

Sort/filter will be in 1.3. As will nicer buttons for trailer/recommended, I think.

I don’t think there has been any news about an actual search function yet.

Thanks for the work, but this is really sad. So for me this means happy new year to Plex for Xbox one. Will try this client in 2016 again…

OK, sorry about that.

I though sort & filters would go hand in hand with a search function

No worries, I know they plan on working on a search function, just don’t want you guys to get your hopes up to early for it

Even though it won’t be in the next update that’s still awesome news, this would pretty much complete the experience for me

Offline use would also be very nice

direct play for x265 files. not transcoding.

Nice surprise when you open Plex guys

Go on…

Nothing here, but plex was loaded up already…watching Gotham with the
girl so a restart is out of the question at the moment.

Channel support and filters are the first things I notice…
