I am having same problem with splash screen and spinning circle. I setup a new xbox user and logged in and was given a pin code. I set up and now and able to access library as new user
Also have the same problem. App wonât start up and is stuck on the spinning wheel
Already tried to uninstall, reboot install it;
Already remove the xbox one link in media server and removed the credentials from plex.tv/users/edit.
Also tried to start it without being logged on, but no luck either.
None of it works.
Having to create a new user isnât a fix thought, Iâd rather not have to do a run around to access my media when it was working just fine before the update.
At first after update, plex failed to start giving me an internet connection error. So I restarted xbone. Than I got the endless spinner. Than I quit plex, and restarted the xbone again. Upon reboot it loaded up just fine.
My next step would have been to try uninstalling and reinstalling plex in between reboots.
Anyone got an issue with transcoding after the update, i have a synology NAS and the xbox one. Was watching a movie last night fine, gone to resart the the movie now uses 100% CPU. Wonder if somthing has happen to the native MKV playback as even a converted file for the xbox still seems to be using the transcoder. Let me know if you have the same issues. Cannot see a way to role back the app
Sorry some of you are experiencing problems with this. If you are seeing the issue please try running the app with a different XB1 user. You may need to create a new user to do this. If that still doesnât work, please let us know.
Weâre chatting to MS about how to resolve this - itâs a file access issue that we donât yet understand how/why it manifests. Apologies again.
Dom, any news on any isues with transcoding ? the file is the correct format so this should play native to the xbox one without transcoder hitting high CPU
@âDom Câ Just noticed i can email direct, let me know if this information is good, i can see that @scotplex seems to be having the same issue below. Windows 10 fine, xbox one transcodes any file i drop at it

Any help would be great, this is a file that i used the new optimise function on the server, any file i try and play seems to be having the same issues
Would a factory reset of the Xbox resolve this file access issues of the current account? Just asking because its a matter of about 10 min for users that have all their games&apps on an external drive
For anyone having the spinning circle problems, I not only reset my xbox but also the computer that has the plex server on it. Everything is better now. Hope that helps.
I have noticed transcoding of video (h264) on XB1 from my Sinology DiskStation 1513+ server but direct play from my Windows 10 server. Both reference the same files. Both severs are running PMS 0.9.14.2, and both operating systems are fully updated. Frustrating because the NAS is not powerful enough to transcode. Issue did not exist for me before the XB1 Client update. Also, the DiskStation direct plays to my Roku 3 just fine.
I am not able to connect via companion if DiskStation is selected in my web browser. I can connect if I have selected the Win10 server. (Stays connected then if I switch back to DiskStation.) In any case, once a video is casted, the browser will continue to spin. The only way to get back is to close out, which then stops the video. Companion only seems to work properly if I first start the video on the XB1 and then connect the browser to the XB1.
Also a request:
Could the XB1 Client please look like other clients - i.e. much less orange? Thanks.
