Xbox One (Requires 0.9.11.0)

Hey guys, sorry if I missed this but when I try and connect from my Xbox One it gives me the following error "Server version 0.9.11.0 or higher required". When I check the download section the highest version is "0.9.10.3". Does anyone know where I can get the latest server?

Goto https://plex.tv/downloads, sign in, click download, then choose PlexPass downloads.

I tried that, when I click PlexPass downloads this is the version it gives me:

0.9.10.3

I had the same issue . You need to make sure in the downloads sections you select the plex pass downloads section instead of public downloads 0.9.10.3 is available there .

Right, I'm not getting the newer version when I click PlexPass for some reason. See the screenshot here: http://oi58.tinypic.com/jjwosg.jpg

Are you sure, it says that on screen? mine said to get 0.9.10.3. If you have the latest server, then you might need to go to the top right and select your server. For me I kept getting that screen until I went to the top right and selected the server.

That is the newest version. I’m having same problem with the app saying server is out of date too

I rebooted the Xbox One and it's now working using 0.9.10.3. Not sure why it was asking for the other version originally. If it occurs again, I will take pictures.

Just a suggestion to the wonderful Plex team... If you are signed into your PlexPass account the PC software should update to 0.9.10.3. Had it not been for searching the web I would never have figured this out until I found this thread.

I also had to reboot my Xbox One to get it to work. Initially after installation, I tried to run the app and it crashed. After that, it wouldn’t recognize the server until I rebooted the Xbox.

I also had a problem with using my Microsoft account - when I started the app after the reboot, I wasn’t signed in. Plex asked me to sign in, so I signed in using the controller. At this point, I was stuck, as Plex simply kept saying to sign in and wouldn’t recognize that I was signed in, and I had to close and re-open the app before it would work.

Same here. I also rebooted the PC as well.

I want to run Plex on my Xbox One but Im running Plex on a FreeNAS server. It shows that the version is 0.9.9.13.525. Does anyone know if the Plex for FreeNAS will updated to the 0.9.10.3 so that it will work with the Xbox One?

If you see messaging to upgrade server version, make sure you do all of these steps:

1) Upgrade server

2) Exit Xbox One Plex app

3) Open Xbox One Plex app

Don't necessarily need to do it in that order, but for me after updating server on Ubuntu, hitting retry didn't work, so I quit app and restarted the app and it found server immediately and has worked fine. No Xbox restart required.

If you are seeing the 0.9.11 message then this may be due to your xbox not connecting to the internet (it's a local fallback of a version that doesn't yet exist).

If anyone does see the error when connected then please post steps to get there on here. It would be good to know if you were initially signed into an xbox account etc.

Hopefully the 'restart the app' fixes it for now, but obviously we want to find the root of this problem.

This has been discussed several times on this forum. Plexpass releases are in some cases like this much needed to get the latest functionality but in most cases these should be seen as Beta releases that is on the very cutting edge - thus containing bugs and other flaws that might not be suitable at all times. I can agree to a point that better update instruments (especially on Linux) is much needed but automatically updating it should not.
