XBox One Thoughts & Ideas

Just wanted to jot down some of my experiences. Please note this is coming from a user with about 60 TV shows and about 1200 movies cataloged. Also, to point out, the XBox One app has replaced all my other means of Plex (Fire TV / AppleTV), so kudos! Below are some issues I see based on my own use cases.

1. Unwatched filter that works from start to finish is a huge helper, please add this. Not like the FireTV version where it only works on certain levels, this should be a filter from start to finish

2. Possible option to disable the "start" screen of a section and just bring you into your own filtered browse list (for me, this would be All content, unwatched only.

3. The ability to sort these filters, for example with Movies, maybe show "Recently Released" and only show my unwatched ones etc. etc.

4. Movie view should have more rows (maybe 4?), or scroll up and down. When you get +200 movies I assume the 2 rows becomes a scrolling nightmare. Same deal with TV shows, obviously this effects people less though.

5. Possible Bug: When finishing a show, it does mark it as watched but the UI doesn't update/doesn't remove the dot.

All in all, love the app, love the responsiveness and can't wait to see the improvements throughout.

#4. This is a design more in line with the xbox one design philosophy (horizontal scroll). I actually quite like it, if you go up there is a jump list to go to each letter of the alphabet. I've got over 600 movies and haven't had any issues using this.

#5. This is a documented issue that the team has said they are aware of and should be fixed.

thanks, I have been using the jump list without issue. I guess #4 will become less of an issue once filters are introduced. Using the Jump list is pointless if you are looking for a random movie to watch, or what I typically do and just cruise through my artwork until something catches my eye, or whoever is over etc. Its not a cruisable list with only 2 columns... trust me, it literally took my over 5 minutes to go from end to end, and that's with scrolling held down which means you can't really view much.
