One thing that’s really irked me about the xbox app is the user experience for for unwatched status filters. I tend to use this feature a lot, so it would be nice to not have to do 10 button presses on my remote to enable this filter. Also having to repeat the same sequence twice to get the view to update watched statuses after I’ve finished a video, but that’s a whole other issue with the xbox app. It seems to only want to update the view when you go back and reenter the video view. If I watch something on my TV upstairs, then later that day load up plex downstairs on the xbox one, I have to select a category like movies or tv, then hit the home button before my on deck view updates. These extra steps just seems like a poor user experience to me.
Don’t get me wrong, I love plex, and you guys have done a great job with it, I’m a total fan. But the xbox one app certainly needs some work related to these issues.
I would imagine the ability for the xbox to suspend apps limits the ways they would choose to have the app poll for updated view information, but this is entirely speculation on my part.
I agree that the app not refreshing the view (or even having a manual refresh button onscreen) is annoying.
I personally don’t use the unwatched status filters but I think they would agree that the sort/filter options need improvement, as well as the much anticipated search feature needs to arrive soon.
Yeah, if the platform inherently prevents automatic refreshes, then several options around refreshing the screen seems reasonable to me (from remote (IR code), on-screen button, remote app button, etc).
I “used to could” click on an actors name and pull up all of their films in XBOX One or did I dream that? Because I sure as heck can’t do it now. I am feeling a little let down by XBOX One. I am looking for an alternative - I am thinking of getting a used Fire Stick or used ChromeCast. Arggggghhhh! Microsoft our love hate relationship continues
