Xbox One UWP Update and Plex

Just a quick question as I haven’t been able to find an answer on this one:

Is there plans to move over/enable the UWP version of Plex on the Xbox One? The update to enable this feature on the Xbox is going live early next month and some UWP applications are already enabled and working on the Xbox for those users who are on the Xbox Preview build. The UWP version of Plex was also released a couple of days ago although is limited to just desktops and tablets currently with mobile to be enabled down the track, but no indication on Xbox.

There are heaps of awesome features that UWP apps can make use of including Background Music which I would love to be able to play my Plex music library. There is one app so far that is doing this but is aimed podcasts.

Note: A Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app can run on any Windows-based device, from your phone to your tablet ,PC or Xbox. One App to rule them all…

I don´t think you will get an official answer.

But I also think PLEX would be stupid not to bring their UWP app to Xbox One and have one single code base for all Windows 10 devices :slight_smile:

It´s only a matter of time.

Cheers, I figured as much with the “no news until it is here” approach, just wasn’t sure if it had been mentioned n previously.

I also here the store sign off process is a lot quicker with Uwp than native Xbox apps. Exciting times.

yeah it might be a short while…but that is definitely what they are going to do :slight_smile:

Plex typically does not release time frames for future client features, so at this time we still don’t have an answer as to when it will be released.
