Xbox Series X stuttering HEVC on remote server

Player Version#: v5.15.1 (lastest Plex for Xbox)

Hi, I seem to be getting a lot of micro stuttering on my Xbox Series X playing from my seedbox Plex server, but only with HEVC or very large H264 files (like a remux). H264 in the main works fine. Also if I add the same HEVC file to my local server all plays fine too. Both servers are on 1.23.1.4528 and both are running on Ubuntu (home 20.04 remote 18.04).

I’ve attached a log with info logging on on the Xbox, while trying to play one of the files.

In addition all these file play OK from the remote server on an Apple TV 4K and Chomecast with Google TV both attached to the same TV.

I upgraded to a 500mb connection and the problem seems to have vanished. Not sure what was going on. My previous connection was around 65mb, so not sure why that wasn’t enough.

Blu-ray remuxes can spike over 100mbs.

Which is also one of several reasons that TVs and other devices with 100m Ethernet can have problems with them.

You would probably want a minimum of 150-200m internet for 4K Blu-ray remux streaming.

Despite the fact as I said all the files played perfectly on an Apple TV and Chromecast with Google TV.
