I host a large plex media server with Live Xfinity TV that i run through my plex server with DVR functions. I absolutely love it, however xfinity/Comcast has done away with cable cards therefore making any expansion impossible and I reckon in short time they’ll eliminate Cable Cards entirely for existing customers already activated to use them.
What is a good alternative? I’m not talking about “over the air” antenna services (I already use a tuner for an antenna). I want to be able to use cable services like i currently do now. What are my options? Not finding much on the internet to suggest there are any alternatives other than using streaming services with limit your watchability based on territorial black out rights which plex affords me the ability to work around.
I thought the providers were required by law to offer. I have two cablecard tuners with cards in my setup. I’d been waiting for SiliconDust to offer their 6 tuner version of the HDHomeRun, but that seems to be indefinitely on hold. 
Not since 2020, when the FCC eliminated that requirement. Providers have been gradually removing support for cablecards since.
