XMLTV EPG Memory Leak

Server Version#: Versions since the forced EPG data switch (possibly earlier, I just wasn’t having to use XMLTV EPG data then)
Player Version#: N/A

Server OS: Ubuntu 18.04.2 64-bit

Ever since being forced to provide my own XMLTV EPG because there are still channels missing from the new Plex provided EPG I’ve been experiencing massive memory leaks.

I have 16GB of ram on my server and every EPG refresh eats another ~20% without releasing it. I have to babysit the server to restart it when it inevitably starves the system of RAM.

Is this issue known and is it actually being worked on?

Heh… if all you have are missing channels, I’d say you’re lucky. My TV provider is now completely missing, I’m forced to look elsewhere for EPG data. (yes, I’ve submitted an issue report.)

I have a CentOS 7.6.1810 system w/ 8gb and an nVidia GT730 graphics adapter, running plexmediaserver-1.16.1.1291-158e5b199.x86_64. I built this last October, and haven’t observed such a memory leak either on either import from Plex’s service, or from an XMLTV file.

This is still happening on the latest 1.16.5.1488 build and it would be great to get some feedback or input on how to deal with this.

My XMLTV file is large (~161MB for this test) for 131 channels with full credits/icons for all shows. Even if I exclude all of that information the memory leak still occurs it just doesn’t eat as much at a time due to the smaller file.
