Just to clarify, most of 4k dts rip reach a max of 50/60mbps… a 100mb wired connection is enough.
Personally I prefer a lan connection, rather that using the wifi.
You should understand that most of LG TV probably has not good enough Ethernet chip to get full 100mb bandwidth.And one more thing you should also know … if you use secured connections on your PMS it will also decrease you LG TV performance as it will spend more CPU power on decoding secured traffic instead of spending it on media decoding or something like that
ok, this is not his case as he watches movies on E6 model… I use EF950 (his previous model) and can handle all type of files. However I understand that some tv can’t handle some 50 or even 30mbs stream source, but as it’s a cpu limit, I think that it should stutters even using wifi connection…
EDIT: nice tip disable secure connections, I’ll give it a try on an older LG tv
Should work fine on the E6 as well. I stream 4K files directly to XPlay over WiFi without any problems on my B6. If you have a good router, chances are WiFi will be faster then LAN. Just test in the WebOS browser on your TV by visiting https://fast.com over LAN and over WiFi (if your internet is fast enough to see the max connection).
Well, the need arrived for reading the vanity cards at the end of some tv shows… But there should be other uses for this feature… For example, to look for details in a scene, perhaps.
It would help at least to move the play icon from the middle of the screen to the top left side of the screen (or somewhere else)… Just like the old VCRs did…

Hi Bublikoff, this app looks really promising. I installed it a while back but didnt have time to test it. Building a new NAS with the Ryzen platform that should be done this week. Would it be possible to extend the demo trial once my NAS is up and running?

Is it ok to update PMS to Version 1.4.3.3433 and will i loose any xplay functions?
The other is that i have had issues with some files showing only half the picture in xplay. has this bug been fixed?

Only in case if you have webOS 2.x and lower or dont use transcoding …

Hi all, I could use a bit of help with a problem I’ve using XPlay… Basically if I set a limit on the “Limit remote stream bitrate” to anything other than original on my media server it will refuse to play 90% of my media… I just get “The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported”…
If I set the remote stream bit rate to original(No Limit) the media plays fine…
Is this a feature or is there something I have missed???
Just started using this app and am liking it so far. I was curious if you had any plans for Xplay to be able to be used as a “companion” app thereby making it controllable by things like the iOS/Android Plex apps?
hello @bublikoff. i have bought a second LG TV, installed XPlay on it, and it’s the DEMO version. Do I have to buy it again to unlock it on the new TV? (BTW, I am using the same LG store username on both TVs, and indeed the system remembers I bought XPlay). Thanks
Great app, I bought it. I’m just waiting for the feature where you can delay or advance external subtitle for a few seconds. Since sometimes subtitles are not sync to the movie, atleast we can adjust it in the client app.
I know this has been discussed before, but I really would like an option to automatically sign in and not prompt for PIN.
I’m tired of having to always enter pin on tv, and i cannot remove pin because i want to have it on other devices like tablet or web browser.
But there should be other uses for this feature…
