I surely hope that the black bar problem will be solved, as the lower internal subs are cut in half by the lower black bar. The not so great thing about updates in the background is, that you can’t read about experiences about new versions before it is out all over. It was really functioning great in my end until now.
Hi, my recordings in full HD now appear cropped in the top and right side. This didn’t happened before. Can I revert version and stay there?

I do play with transferring external subs displaying function from own variant to system one. It’s one of the way to reduce a bit problems with subs delay. For eg own variant rechecks current time of playback every 50 milliseconds but it’s not the finale time because system does not guaranty this interval. Its mach more reliable to use video player functionality to display subs … in case if its possible =)

Reinstalled Plex 1.5.5.3634 because it does not seem to be server related.Damn, it was working fine some days ago… normally if I change the audio track the tv show image backdrop is appearing for a short moment and then the video plays… now I only get a grey background and the rotating circle. Funny enough, in the official Plex app changing audio tracks works…
So it seems to be related to the Xplay app? Don´t knwo what´s going on, but it´s annoying.

Direct Play - mach better variant but not suitable for some ppl. For eg in webOS 1.x and 2.x you can not switch between audio tracks or for eg some combinations of subs are also require transcoding.

Maybe its not the ideal variant of testing new changes BUT unfortunately there is no way to do this for eg before pushing all changes to LG Apps Store. Here I can make changes and get back feedback to understand if it works for all or not as all webOS version do behave different way in the same situation

Actually those black bars are must be to keep video aspect
For eg … I do have a video file with media size 536x1280 … will it be correct to stretch it to 1080x1920? Or show it with back bars?

Actually there are tow opinions … the first one is to keep aspect ratio the second is to stretch it to remove black bars
Just removed keeping aspect ratio functionality … at least for a while … until I can add option to choose to keep or not aspect ratio

Why would anyone watch a stretched video? I think the TV handles it fine as it is. What’s the reason you want to add this?

Using Xplay on my LG with WebOS 3.0. All play perfectly, except these two:
- I use Vietnamese subtitle (SRT), encoding in UTF-8, but many character specific for VNese as “ế”, “ừ”… display differently from other normal ascii characters. Guessing this is due to the font being used not cover those. Do you have any suggest to bypass this.
- I have some 3D movie, which has to combine with ASS subtitle to display correctly in 3D mode, but when using ASS sub, it requires plex server transcode, that my server not powerful enough to support.

Helo, I’m using LG 42LS575S-ZD with firmware 04.62.12 and trying to find a way to connect to my PLEX SERWER. Unfortunately there is no one app in LG App ( Plex, XPlay etc ) for my TV. I’m using other LG modern model in second bedroom and there I installed PLEX app and XPlay app, by LG App Store and everything works perfect. So I dowloaded file from http://xplay.itkey.ru/downloads/XPlay-1.1.6-20160615.zip, extracted and wrote on FAT32 USB drive. As procedure said I logged to my LG account put in USB drive wait and check, but there wasn’t XPlay app. In the same way i extracted PlayZ App, and application is running but cannot connect to server ( probably it’s to old - 2014 for server 1.5.5.3634 ). I can tell there is one difference in directory structure and files PlayZ vs XPlay ( PlayZ /lgapps/installed/237576/ - png and xml files ) and ( /developer/apps/usr/palm/applications/com.itkey.plexclient/ - html ison js files0 ) Please help ! I spent a a lot of evening today looking google flex and other forums and cannot find answer how to use any Plex client app on my TV.

Thanks to Bublikoff for removing the aspect ratio update. Everything is great again
I never got to take a photo, but it was like the lower black bar was covering half of the subtitle so only the upper half was visible. I’m talking ablout enbedded subs. Don’t know about external subs though.
@bublikoff I have a problem with the latest XPlay version. It hangs when I try to play a transcoded video, a version without transcoding plays fine.
Here is my setup:
- Plex 1.5.5.3634 on PC
- XPlay 20170503.1.2.8 (ONLINE)
- LG 55UB850V with 05.05.55 firmware (WebOS 1.4.0-2330)
EDIT:
After some tests, i’ve tried versions:
- 1.5.4.3596
- 1.5.3.3580
- 1.5.1.3520
- 1.4.4.3495
- 1.4.3.3433
- 1.3.4.3285
And none of them work… I’ve seen something interesting. When I transcode because of subtitles it works fine, but when because of changing the audio track XPlay just hangs and Plex server doesn’t even start transcoding.
So my guess would be the changes to WebOS 3.0 that broke the transcoding support on older WebOS versions.
I have the same problem with XPlay 20170503.1.2.8 (ONLINE) on LG WebOS 1.4 TV and Plex Server 1.5.5.3634 on raspberry pi… already sent @bublikoff a support mail about it…

I use xplay for a few days xplay. For a TV series after the end of an episode, the next automatically starts. Is it possible to disable this function?
