I’ve been using Xplay for a few weeks now, and while it is working quite well, I would like to share a few issues:
when xplay is being used (browsing movies or watching them), there is a relatively high disk usage on my plex server compared to native plex app or dlna stream. Consequently, I hear my server disk scratching when watching movies on xplay which is really unconvenient, while I don’t hear it at all using dlna.
for one particular movie, I had a very long list of subtitles, and I couldn’t access to the one I was looking for because it was the last of the list, and therefore invisible above the lower esge of the screen. That could be fixed if the subtitle list was scrollable.

I had the same, and it was also relatively slow to load all meta-data. I moved the Plex data on my Synology to an external USB(3) stick and now it’s superfast and no more noise. I guess this is because XPlay doesn’t cache or caches less metadata then other apps.

It’s ugly yes, but you can browse through them by hitting down on your remove instead of selecting with the magic pointer.

Dev are we getting any more updates ??, I’m close to buying ,as the official lg app is poo
Yes … Im working on a major update also … for the moment Im finishing media navigation UI. PMS returns a bit strange information for navigation especially for folder navigation. Different type of media libs have different navigation information
Im planing to add turn off and on auto play TV show episodes
Im waiting for extra free money to buy new tv model with webOS 3.x and 4k for better testing and maybe finally resolve problem with its playback on some TV models. Unfortunately webOS 3.x TV emulator does not work correctly I almost can not test app on it … I can only test app start and navigation on this emulator

Please can you tell me how you do that?
If you know Linux & terminal access it’s not that hard:
Stop the Plex Media Server package
Copy the “Library” data to a “Plex” folder on your USB share
Rename the original “Library” to something like “Library-old” (as a backup)
SSH into your Synology: ssh username@ip (make sure SSH access in on in DSM)
Go to the original location of Plex Library folder (e.g. /volume1/Plex/)
Create a symlink linking to the new location of the library: “ln -s /volumeUSB/usbshare1/Plex/Library) Library”
Start Plex Media Server to see if it works
If it works you can delete the “Library-old” directory. Don’t delete the Plex share though, that will remove the symlink
@bublikoff is there any chance that you could add support for LG PF1500W projector? This is basically a smart TV based on webOS 3, just in a form of projector. The official Plex app can be already installed, but there’s a serious issue (forgetting all settings including sign-in after reboot) outlives its usefulness, and seems like no one in the dev cares of it.

Just one question, what is the limitation of the demo version ?
Time only … it even better to call it “Trial” instead of “Demo” as “Demo” means that it has some functionality limits … “Trial” usually has only time limit … But “demo” sounds a bit “softer”))

Hard to say … it will depend from LG as the app has no limits for webOS … but for eg as I know LG does not approve app for webOS light. I can only try to ask them if its possible
The latest UI navigation changes. Folder view mode was refactored. There are still some logic problems for “Folder view mode” because of how PMS shares information about PMS objects or at least I have lack information about it))
PS
I need some one who uses old PMS (version lower 1.3) for compatibility testing (PMS communication only no playback needed)

Not sure what webOS “light” meant for, but PF1500W projector just came out this year and I think it runs a regular version of webOS which is 3.00.17 at this point. There are other apps like Netflix and Hulu as wells as Plex up already on the store, so I assume at least no technical limitation for providing your app. Could you take a look at it?

Any chance of adding a “play random movie” feature?
I reckon it would be kind of cool.
If you can’t decide what to watch, let the app randomly pick one for you from your collection.
