Hi,

I am having problems with 10-bit colour files on Xplay. Normal 4K files play fine, but nothing that has 10-bit colour. The TV is a UH770V, WebOS 3.3.3.

Simon

Edit: On further investigation, it appears to be only some 10-bit files. The problem files play on OpenPHT, but not Xplay. Could a non-standard resolution (e.g. 1920 x 804) be causing the problem?

doing a quick google there are dougths to weather it has a 10 bit panel, mayby this is the reason it wont play 10bit files ??

Yes I got new TV on webOS 3.x … finally =) And I go quite interesting experience with it.
Even current version of the app works quite fast and smooth … so much difference between webOS 1.x.
Ive also tested new version on it and already fixed some potential problems in source code and improved video player behavior. For the moment Im working on video player functionality and testing it for “smoother” experience

Looking forward to new version, is there any ETA? I would definitely donate to you if you keep up the good work and make the xplay experience better to us. Cheers

Did you see my WebOS3 “bugs” and were you able to replicate and correct?
Happy to assist with field testing if you have a need.

HI bublikoff, delighted to know that a new version is on the way. Can you please look at the flac issue? My AVR switches to “Dolby Digital” when playing flac, just like the official Plex app, but there is no sound, whereas the official Plex app continues to play as Dolby Digital . Is is supposed to play as PCM. XPlay plays wav files correctly - included my DTS encoded wav files as DTS!
As you know, trueHD is an issue as well.
I am happy to test as well (have already paid up B) )

I am super excited to see the new version to
I have a very quick simple question, I have searched and am not able to see where to set it.
Where can I disable autoplay to the next video or episode on xplay? (My plex cloud server keeps crashing when auto play is enabled).
Thanks!

You can’t, but I believe @bublikoff added this in the new version, which I hope will come out soon

Hi there! I just purchased a copy of xplay and i wanted to say thank you for all your hard work and for making an excellent program. I love how fast it is to navigate through my media, and how it seems to play everything with almost no hitches (including 4k HDR content).

There are some issues, but from reading through this thread, it does sound like you already know about it. The issues are mainly around subtitles (causing transcoding, not picking the right subtitle, etc.) but it sounds like these are mostly issues in the LG player not being extensible enough. As a developer myself, i understand how these issues can be blocking and can be very problematic.

That said, if you can eventually fix it, it would be very appreciated! Maybe it might help if these messages were forwarded to the right devs/groups at LG. I’d be happy to convey to them how beneficial these API additions would be, if that would help.

Again, thanks much. Great app, and i look forward to updates to it in the future!

i will straight up buy this if you can set it up with a buffer so my 4k HDR movies dont keep buffering :frowning:

Hi, I’ve been having problems with X-Play on my LG 49SJ800V WebOS TV.

X-Play loads, shows my 3 Plex accounts, allows me to log in and input my account code, but then just sits on a screen with the X-Play logo and the spinning loading icon below…!

I’ve reinstalled numerous times to no avail. Help!
Thanks

I had the same. The dev asked me to try removing the ‘child’ accounts and see if it works with just the main account present.

I didn’t try that as it would have caused too many arguments in the house so I reverted to a roku :(. Sounds like it maybe a bug if you have multiple accounts. Hope it gets fixed @bublikoff

Aw that’s a shame, really wanted to get my 4k content working through it. Will wait and see if any updates are pending

I also seem to be having this problem a little as well (despite being wired to the server on gigabit). 4k movies play well like 99% of the time. but every now and then, there’s a tiny buffering hiccup. If the streaming buffer could be increased a bit to better handle this, that would be great!

Actually, it looks like this may be an ethernet vs. wifi issue. I wired the TV, assuming the ethernet would be faster and more reliable. However, it looks like it’s only 100Mb/s. That’s not enough for some intense parts of the 4k stream. Wifi seems to be 802.11ac which can usually handle 8x that without too much trouble.

I’ve switched to wifi and now have no trouble streaming 4k to xplay. I have noticed that the most intense 4k scenes are only a little above 100MB/s. So perhaps with a larger buffer, things would work better. Thanks!

I can concur. Never have any problems with any content (4k HDR) streaming over WiFi, which is faster if you have a proper signal.

I just make sure I always download extra SRT subtitles using Sub-Zero plugin in Plex to do this automatically. Never any problems with subtitles.

Another subtitle issue. Looks like the app can’t show more than a certain number of subtitles in its dropdown list. It means if the subtitles you want are too low in the list, then they will be off screen and can’t be selected). Similarly, when playing a video, the subtitle list can show up behind the movie scrubber, making it impossible to select those subtitles.

One option that could help here would be if i could specify which languages to display subtitles for. I’d probably just pick Eng and Und. If the list were filtered down to just those two languages, things would be fine.

Note: remuxing the videos isn’t really a good option as these are shared files and changing them will break the content hashes.

Thanks!
