Yes I got new TV on webOS 3.x … finally And I go quite interesting experience with it.
Even current version of the app works quite fast and smooth … so much difference between webOS 1.x.
Ive also tested new version on it and already fixed some potential problems in source code and improved video player behavior. For the moment Im working on video player functionality and testing it for “smoother” experience
so looks promising hes working on improving the app for us
Hello.
I have just discovered the application, and she looks very promising; it interests me a lot because my NAS is struggling to transcode my HD movies, that is to say that if I pause or that I mistakenly support the remote control the film will never resume, forced to launch from the beginning.
But with Xplay, the movie starts loading every 30 seconds, it’s a horror. A particular setting to do?
Thank you

Probably need to check you wifi speed, preferably on the TV itself by visiting fast.com on the TV’s webbrowser.
Some kind of progress report …
After Ive started video player testing on real TV Ive discovered some issues with video playback.
Sometimes video playback has different behavior on real TV and webOS emulator and I dont fully understand this thing from LG.
Some tech issued that were discovered after testing on real TV
Video playback can stop playback after start after 1-2-3-4-5-6 and etc seconds
Sometime system embedded video player reports that it started to the app but actually it freezes playback … no playback. Just shows a static frame from video content.
Video content can not be scaled on real TV (despite it can be done on webOS emulator)
So … the first two items from issues list (1 and 2) were finally fixed or at least I can not catch them while testing playback. The last one (3) will not be implemented … it means that ppl who would like to be able to choose to watch video with black bars but keeps video aspect ration or watch video stretching video content to full screen will not be possible. LG takes video size handling by own algorithm and will use video content meta data.
Algorithm that decide to transcode or not video content when user select audio or subtitles track was improved (especially for subtitles tracks). Unfortunately audio track selecting (in direct play mode) will still relay on audio track index and match this track index to information from PMS and sometime can lead to incorrect audio track selecting. Unfortunately LG does not share enough information (like track language and etc) about audio tracks to make correct match.
Video content seeking will restart video player less (in transcoding mode).
Maybe there are some other changes that I can not remember now.
PS
The main problem is that LG webOS emulator does not work the same way as real TV.
More or less webOS 1.x works stable.
webOS 2.x emulator uauly does not work well and after installing it, it works only several times and usually breaks it self and I can not test the app on it.
webOS 3.x emulator quite well but does not store settings and after restart I have to relink Plex account. Usually does not show video content picture … I can see only black or usually white background but I can hear audio track
Is it possible to direct play video but transcode DTS audio to DD5.1? Currently I convert each file with DTS manually, but it would be nice to skip this step. My Sonos doesn’t support DTS so if I don’t convert the file I get no audio.
Hi I didn’t get sound when playing a truehd atmos 7.1 file. Converted to AC3 to fix it. Is it possible to add trueHD support? I got a LG with WebOS 3.5
I just bought this app on my Oled television on WebOS 3.5, and really love it. It works flawlessly playing 4k HDR files. Thanks for this great software!
