Will you be making an app for Samsung tv’s at any time?
Great app, thank you! I’m sorry if this has been requested but could you please implement MicroDVD (.sub) subtitle support? It doesn’t seem to support these and I imagine it would be quite simple since they are very similar to .srt.
Are there plans to add a List view instead of just a Poster view? It’s difficult to browse seasons of TV shows with the current layout. Having a folder view would help a lot too. Thanks for the app!
Sorry if this was asked before. I have a computer that is not capable of playing 4k (GTX 970 gpu and i5 6600k cpu) but my LG tv is 4k ready. If I use the xplay app to direct play a 4k movie on my tv from my computer, will I get the true 4k or is that not possible?
Thanks,
Conroy

Works, XPLay will play the files directly without any transcoding or modification.
Sorry, but it is possible to view the files as folders in the same way I can do in Plex?
My problem is that I store all my files in specific directories that I normally see and browsw when I use Plex. With Xplay all the views (name, date, and so on) are useless for me because I have too much files stored.
I thought to but Xplay, but until I can use it as Plex I wil delay the purchase.

This is being worked on in the new version I believe. @bublikoff can answer that ![]()
I occasionally have buffering issues during 4K/HDR playback, even over Ethernet. It’s only once or twice a movie, which is hardly a problem, but avoiding it entirely would obviously be more ideal. I’m streaming from a 5400 RPM 4TB HDD, could that be the issue? I assumed the bitrate of a 5400 RPM drive would be enough.
I have the same issue. Suddenly, my 4k hdr movies need to buffer every 5 min. I stream from a 6 TB 7200RPM hdd over ethernet cable.
Ethernet on the LG OLED’s is limited to 100mbit max. If you have a proper WiFi signal (5ghz) you can get twice the speed which will most likely solve your streaming problems. This isn’t an XPlay problem.
I did some research and indeed as you said FransTwisk, it’s the ethernet port on the lg OLED. I am now connected through wifi 5 Ghz and no more problem… I wonder why they didn’t put a 1000mbit ehternet port/controller in the tv. Is it that more expensive?
Wow, I had no idea about the ethernet port on the LG C7. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I do have a 5ghz router, so I’ll default to that going forward. Great tip!
Hi
Need some extra testers … but please not too many))
I already have 1 tester and just need to test the app in different environment … in different circumstances
@bublikoff do you need one to translate Danish?

Would love to test! Using an LG OLED 55B6V here with latest Plex running on a Synology DS416+ NAS. Let me know what you need from me ![]()

Hi
i want to test too please i have LG OLED E7V here with xplay and plex running on a selfmade server J4205 Intel Pentium. Best regards
Can also test, Plex on Windows 2016 Server with Xplay on OLED C7.
So I have been experiencing buffering and the occasional artifacting since the first day I downloaded XPlay, but I still kept using it because it was such a convenient solution for my setup. Anyhow, the problems got worse lately, and I started tinkering. To make a long story short, I eventually ran out of ideas and decided to unplug the ethernet cable from the switch in my entertainment unit and plug it directly into my C7. After that, playback has been flawless. Turns out my unmanaged switch was just trash.
I just thought I’d add my experience for anyone else that may be troubleshooting. If you use a switch, try running Xplay without it to compare playback. Just ordered a Netgear GS305, and hope that it performs much better.
Running XPlay is just a beautiful experience now. Thanks @bublikoff!
