Hi! Where is this Dev version at? Tried looking for a different app in lg store but can’t find any.
In the dev version. When i select “search” and want to move the pointer down to the letters it disapears.
Can something be done about ASS subtitles skipping a line when multiple texts are supposed to be on screen at once?
Also, why do some srt subtitles need encoding?
Hello, I have been using Xplay with my mac running the server with no problems for about 6 months (thank you, btw, I love the app!). Since my TV has been able to reproduce every file I’ve downloaded, I decided to purchase a cheap NAS without transcode abilities to run my server instead of my mac. Everything seems to be working well except all my episodes of just one particular show is asking to be transcoded when using the NAS pms but doesn’t prompt transcoding when using the mac pms. Any ideas why this would be happening? All other video files seem to be working well without asking to be transcoded. Thanks for any advice.
Hi,
I tried installing XPLay on my LG TV and accessing Plex Cloud Server but I could not start to play any videos. It just started the spinner and would keep on spinning until I change TV input/output.
How can I troubleshoot what is wrong before unlock the full version?
I would like to buy it if it works with my Plex Pass Cloud server but I could not start any of the TV Shows I have listed on it. I can watch the shows on my browser through the web interface without the glitch from the same location…
Regards,
Mišel
I sent a mail to get access to the develop version but haven’t got a reply, so trying it this way:)
Where is the new version links? I want to test it out and the ones here are dead
It this project dead?
When will the new version be released? @bublikoff
Pretty sure it is not dead. The guy has stated on here and has screenshots of an updated version of xplay on the website that he has been working on.
Im just thinking that before i donate more money i will like to know if it is dead. Not mutch info we get what is going on. And no reply when you email about dev problems.
Hmm i still getting some problems when i have a cartoon movie and there is more language.
I cant select Danish it just plays english. When i select swedish or somthing else it works but not Danish. It works fine with plex? Can i provide with some log or somthing? It is also a problem in the dev version.
Thanks.
Xplay uses the Api’s software that LG provides. These Api’s doesn’t work well with embedded subtitles. You can solve the problem using external subtitles srt.
If your movies is a matrioska type (mkv) you can easily extract the subtitles using a component of the mkvtoolnix software (freeware) named gMKVExtractGUI.exe
After you have extracted the interested subtitle, rename it with the same name of the movie; Xplay will show it in the list of the subtitles available.
You can select it and you will see the movie and subtitles with no problems.

Im sorry sir but im not talking about subtitles but audio. It works with plex but not always with xplay.
In this case you should edit the movie recreating it always using mkvtoolnix software and the “multiplexer” function. Select only the audio language you are interested in. At the end of the process you will have the same video quality with only one language and you will see/hear the movie without problem with Xplay.
I know this is a workaround, but also for the audio track there is a problem with the LG Api’s.
Bye
Thanks for the very useful tip worked like a charm - the problem i have when i do this is that the subtitles play a good 20 seconds before the scene which is not very useful.
Any idea’s what i could do to fix that?
Thanks,
