XPlay (WebOS)

I have a problem playing any media from my Plex Pass Server. It just starts a spinner and it goes on forever like that.
How can I debug what is going on?

My user id is 575828-HR.

@waynes_111, is this problem happening for all the video’s or it just happens with a specific one?

Problem is with all of them. Or, at least, with all of the ones I have tried playing. Mostly x264 mkvs of different resolution and bitrate.

I tried a few and it seems to be all of them.

@waynes_111 The structure of a srt file is quite simple. If you edit the srt file using a text editor like for example notepad, you can see for each subtitle the start and the stop timing. So you can compare these values with the real time you see when you play the video using xplay. If they match, then it is a problem of the video itself that it is wrong. If they don’t match, then it is a problem of your TV.
You can also try to play the same video/srt file using the VLC program on your PC and checking if everything is ok.

I seem to have issues. 90% of the time a movie will not play the first time and I have to exit the app and play again. The screen just goes blank. Also where is the new version? I want to test it and have received no response. Thanks

Any help at all or is this app dead?

I had to go back to the official Plex app on my LG TV, because suddenly I started to have subtitle issues with Xplay, I choose english and it shows some other random subtitle…

Planning to fix this? Is this app still in development even?

Hello I requested to use the beta version and now I would like to know where I can suggest improvements, report errors, help etc.
version v2.189.11 could see the emby and so it would help you to have good ideas

Is there any way to use the Plex remote control API with this app? I’m looking for a way to control the playback from other devices, but it doesn’t appear to work on the official plex app.
Is this a limitation of WebOS?

@bublikoff, the new app is great! But I got one question, Continue watching always jumps to the season and does not start the episode where I left off.
The same is true for movies.
How can I fix that?

How do I make the new app remember where I’m up to in a video? In the previous version it would remember how far into a video you were but the new version doesn’t seem to do that.

Is there anyway to roll back to the previous version? Not digging this new style

2 dealbreakers:

  1. need to be able to search when filtering by actor and drag the scroll bar with the mouse, in the old version you could do it, not in the new one you can only scroll with the wheel which takes AGES

  2. need an option to be able to show more on deck and recently added on home screen like previous versions…

Why can’t this be done? On the movies screen you can reduce size of posters etc… Why can’t you enable that option for the main screen pal?

What happened to the ā€œGUEST userā€? I cannot find it in the new app (v2.187.292) . I can find the ā€œregularā€ home users but not ā€œGuestā€. Could it be because this new app only can show 3 home users?
