Hey @bublikoff Finally they approved the correct version. I´m overall glad. But unfortunately there is still bugs i would like to adress:
When i´ll push the “Back” button to go back to previus screen when watching a movie, you get a xplay warning which say´s “Aw, snap something whent wrong” everytime you do this. quite annoying, if you´ll have to push this everytime you´ll leave a movie with the back button.
Also there is some bug with switching profiles. sometimes it is not possiple to switch at all. you will have to turn off the power to the tv completely, turn it on again, and then it works again.
I´ll have some questions aswell:
Is this version with online update support?
Is it possible to add auto login? and mauby auto refresh if the server is not available straight away? And also would be nice if when you push the “resume of an episode on the main screen” it would directly go play that episode shown. instead of go the season of the tv-show.
Yes, well done in getting the latest version thro’ LG!
My LG 950V does not give the bug reported above by Nolabola
The player back button seems fine apart from a major bug for me. See below.
When selecting TV series with seasons. The main artwork page shows after initially selecting a title.
However, when I select a season there is no Title, artwork or media, episode or play section buttons shown. Only the blurred out background. and the three dots top and left of the screen ( which work) and an odd “–>” about a third way down the left side of the screen. As the image shows attached.
Got the freshly updated version, so I can now give my opinion on the new app with no fear I’m being unfair by testing an incomplete/unfinished product.
IT SUCKS!
Now let me tell you why:
The new interface scrubs video thumbnails from TV show season view, focusing on a written list. I have a preschooler at home, she has no way of telling which episode she wants, so the app is unusable for the kid.
The issue with more shows that have more than 8 seasons still there, I can’t browse further to the right, not with the cursor or direct. It gets stuck at season 8 in all shows.
Still no playlist support.
The player is still subpar - in the old player (as in the original app version) I could press the left/right arrows from the magic remote and move forward or backword. True, now I CAN do something similar, unlike the buggy version, but only for 10 seconds , long press doesn.t do anyhing anymore.
I DON’T have catharact. Nor problems getting confused by more that 8 things on a screen at any given time. Why am I treated like a senior individual? I’d rather see the continue watching list in the same screen, not have to click away for that episode I started last week. All the top, left, and bottom areas I have to hover after to see something usefull is just bad UX. All the icons are way too big for the size of a tv, you have enough real estate to create something useful, this feels like a phone inteface blown up on a tv.
I like the fast subtitle select thing in the player.
Same as for @mnemos, I was waiting for the “bugfixed” version 2.713.102 before complaining
the scrolling wheel does not work on the left menu (with the list of libraries)
there is no global search anymore, one needs to enter the correct library first then search
it’s hard to get the keyboard with the search bar. Search bar is at the top, when the mouse is in the bar the keyboard appears but moving the mouse towards the keyboard makes it disappearing as soon as the mouse leaves the search bar.
we can’t filter out the “already watched” elements anymore
sorting options are not remembered when leaving/entering a library
when a film is played, it automatically restarts again
I am hoping that the update that was just released is the same as we had before with the addition of the online update capabilities… so that @bublikoff can push the latest and greatest stable release to everyone now that LG has published a version which he can update at any time.
Hello, I’ve just updated to the latest version on my LG TV 55SK9500PLA and I can’t see any difference.
It has the same bugs as before, including when you change the quality on the main posters and save,
it defaults back to the original % this only happens when tuning tv off and then back on so nothing saves and still no auto login.
Very frustrating, as it looked very promising until it got messed up in October.
Keep up the good work @bublikoff love your app, let’s hope it gets sorted soon.
I’m getting “Aw, Snap! Something went wrong” when stopping movies with external srt selected (direct play).
Seems to work with internal srt or none selected subtitle.
After updating, I am also still stuck in the PIN loop.
I’ve been locked out of Xplay since ~2018-10-08. I understand the mistakes, difficulties, frustrations, and slow downs that LG contributed to this mess, but, this is disappointing.
To fix the PIN loop turn of all power to the TV for a few minutes to reset all internal cache, this will fix it. Even with the official Plex app this can happen.
Edit: hmm even that doesn’t work reading the post above?
I had infinite loop problems, I’ll explain what I did to solve, I was almost crazy trying to fix. I installed the xpay signed, was a thousand wonders in my gigabit lan, however, I tried to connect the tv and the pc on the 5ghtz wifi, I simply did not recognize the server anymore, I tried to reconnect on the lan network and also it did not work, the tv kept asking for the code loop access and did not connect at all, what I did to solve was to reset the TV, I ended up losing all the settings of my OLED BP7, but solved. Today I just tried to connect the PC to the 5ghtz wifi network, it did not work again, I went back to the LAN and it worked again, I think it’s something related to the initial recognition when linking xplay, if it’s on wifi, is on LAN, so stay tuned … sorry by my poor english
@bublikoff Can you please add back the dark gray color for subtitles? It’s much better with it in HDR dark scenes. I appreciate that you added it when I first asked, but now it’s gone since the update. Thank you very much for developing this awesome app.
