Same here, looking good!
Rats! The update has me stuck in the login loop.
Not had this previously
People like me feel wronged and stolen.
Put yourself in our place for 5 minutes!
We have an application that does not work! And I weigh my words !
I just tested the latest version, and once again, it’s a disappointment! at the same time, it’s no longer a surprise …
Oh yes, we can read the movies again in 4K, houra !!
And?
It’s been since December 2018 that it’s a mess with this V2!
To summarize (as I said on my post on February 8, 2019):
- We still can not have local users … it’s blocked at 6 … how do we do when we have more ???
- With each new version, we have to redo all the settings … what a mess!
- The dashboard of my main account does not correspond to reality! very practical to follow the series in progress !!!
FYI, I am on WebOS 2 (version 04.25.85)
Are you testing your super version with WebOS 2? Allow me to doubt it!
We are not all lucky and have the means to have last generation TV with WebOS 3 or 4!
And me, the impression I have is that you focus only on recent versions of WebOS!
You do not even listen to the feedback of your users! You update us in your corner!
When we say we have problems, maybe we should consider it!
I pay a plex pass to benefit from all the benefits of Plex, especially local users.
I pay for a service, I pay for an application that, because it is paid, must work 100% all the time! But with the V2, this is never the case!
lol, people crying over few bucks, please get a life. I’ve been using this app since 2015, it’s been working very good most of the time, and now with latest version resume works again, it’s not like you pay for a subscription so stop crying.
The Pin Loop and not going further then available servers can be fixed by disabling secure connection to plex server and restarting xplay
pfff … did not you understand anything …
maybe you like to spend your money unnecessarily and have things that do not work, free to you.
But me it is not the case, then your stupid reflections, we will do without it …
that’s it, uninstalled application …
There is enough of being taken for pigeons …
I ban Xplay WebOS

Thanks to this great developer for stealing 8€ !
here’s my biggest beef. I don’t want an app that continually gets updated, but which routinely runs into issues with things like media playback, or not showing all my users, or running into pin-loops. Or having buffer problems. The previous version just sat there for years doing it’s job simply and effectively. It handled my 12 different accounts without issues. It never had a login problem. It was fast and easy to navigate. Movies played 100% of the time without issue.
Now, i have an app that basically doesn’t work around 80% of the time. Occasionally it works, but then a couple of days later it’s back to not working.
I literally only bought this because i wanted a reliable and easy way to just play my 4k content easily from my plex server. So, from my perspective, it went from an A++ app that perfectly served its purpose without me ever having to think about it, to basically being not useful, and just being something try out in the hope that it works, but almost always cannot use. I then have to go use teh LG dlna player. It perfecctly plays the content, but has the absolute worst UI ever for navigating content.
This is why i constantly harp back on having v1. The primary reason i want it is just so i can go back to not having to care about this product. I want to be back in the state where it just sat there, doing it’s job great, day in and day out.

Heck, here’s how valuable it was for me. @bublikoff I would give you $100 usd to have v1 of the app again if it just worked out the same way as before. That’s how useful and how valuable that app was. A great UI, perfectly reliable. No 4k problems whatsoever. No constant issues with subtitles. For example, if i change subtitles now in the middle of a stream (because halfway through the movie someone started speaking a foreign language), then the movie restarts from the beginning. Gah! These sorts of constant bugs are so frustrating given how good this all used to work!
I will pay you to return it so i can just use have something that works reliably again.
Got the update as well today.
The app asked to link again which worked fine.
Found two issues which are probably easy to solve.
Because the PMS is set to use secure tranfers to preferred by default XPLAY uses this as well but it should only be for outside connections. Like the Plex app does as well. Internally it should use http instead of https. This causes buffer issues with high bit rate 4K movies, as the LG processors don’t have hardware acceleration for this. Can we have an option to switch to http in the app or auto detect if its local? Workaround for this is to disable the secure tranfer on the PMS when linking the server from the tv and once linked it can be reverted back.
Second issue I found was with the embedded subtitles when playing and wanted to switch it just started re-buffering and playing again with the same subtitles.
The rest is working fine good job!
I have now v2.715.602 with this new update.
Still have to test it though, but for now it looks fine.
+1

New version 2.715.601 working good for me so far. Not fully tested, but lets hope we can all start to progress and work through any remaining issues.
@bublikoff Good work getting the update pushed through
The app always prefer http over https. It even prefers local networks over internet address (192.168.0.1 will be selected instead of 37.01.10.25)
For the moment in some env it may have problems with https connection. For the moment Ive no idea about nature of it. And it leads to “Aw, Snap! Something went wrong and we were unable to connect to …”. Propobly some kind of handhake or CA cert problem. And again as network connections is handled by web engine (webOS) I can not say for the moment what it could be. I’ll able to get some extra debug information only if I’ll able to catch this issue while will be debuging app. Not sure that LG will tell me anything helpful in this situation. For the moment the only way to overcome this problem is to disable secured connections or even better to set to prefered.
PS
Ive told many times (in this topic also) that HTPPS takes CPU power to decode HTTPS trafic instead of letting CPU do useful payload. CPU in TV is not so powerfull.
Thanks for the explanation.
The workaround works fine and just have to do it once so I’m good.

Thanks buddy,
I appreciate your help, but it makes no difference whether I set secure link to disables, preferred or required.
Also tried pc reboot, TV reboot… what ever - it loops.
This is only this version where I have had this pin loop - strange (2.715.603)
I have updated to the latest version (2.715.601) today on my WebOS 2.2.x TV (65UF950T) and RESUME still DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY!!!
Please explain?
I stop it on 36:00m and when I go back to resume it wants to resume from 25:25.
This is a re-occuring issue regardless of what version I’ve had since updating from v1
Email me please. Adn it would be nice if you can share any libraray with my account. I’ll try to check connectivity from my side.
PS
You can also try to set it to prefered. As for me I do need this option to be set to required.
After last update i can’t connect to my plex server anymore keeps giving the “Aw, Snap!Someting went wrong” message and after restart it directly shows the big pairing code…And everytime after pairing no go due to error…
@bublikoff
I updated to last version and everything is working fine.
I want to ask you if the subtitles synchronization will come back on future updates?
I really like this feature but it was lost in this last update.
Thanks
I’ve just given this a go on my webOS 3 tv and resume is working fine for me…albeit I only have films to test and not tv shows as in your example.
