Small bug here, running the latest version. I’ve got a movie with two audio languages. It starts in French, and I can’t switch to English. Choosing English before or during play doesn’t switch to English.
I am able to switch successfully with the official Plex player.
With the latest version of XPlay I am also getting the incorrect User / content linking.
I have a Plex Pass. On XPlay I have two users, Adult and Kids.
Both Adult and Kids now link the Kids content, I unlinked my server and relinked it. It worked once i.e. Adult linked the Adult content again, but on opening a second time the Adult account only links the Kids content. Kids links Kids as well.
I now have to use the original Plex app which is a problem as well it does not resume play, but keeps starting from the beginning instead each time. But that is another issue.
I’ve got infinite spinning red circle on every video after the latest update. Great timing, first episode of game of thrones in 3 years. Any way to fix this? After the update I had to relink my account to xplay
up-to date with latest version of XPlay (2.715.613)
Still have previous issues
App crashes when I try to play an HDR 4k file of more than 50mbps. Fails to load artwork and says reloading to clear memory.
Continuous red spinner in such cases also IF the artwork loads and I press play.
Files less than 50mbps also show erratic behaviour.
Seems on 1080p or LESS will play without issues.
Just checking in to see if you’ve been able to track down the issue affecting some of us with more than one account. I have three accounts (myself, wife, daughter). On my XPLAY client, whenever I select my own account I’m seeing my name on the top bar, but the displayed content (available libraries, Continue watching, Recently added etc) is from either my wife’s or daughter’s account so it is obviously stlll logging into one of their accounts even though my name is at the top. I’ve also been able to confirm this with Tautulli as playing any content shows up under their account name.
I temporarily fixed this before by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. However, at some point soon after the same behaviour has returned.
One other point, none of the other following clients in my household displays this behaviour:
-Native Plex app on my LG Oled
-Native DLNA app on my LG Oled
-Plex app on Firestick
-Kodi-Plex app on Firestick
-Plex app on Roku Premiere
-Plex app on nVidia Shield
Hi
My buffering issues seems fixed in the latest version. My TV shows 2.715.618 now. I hope not to return with the next update
I’ve asked the developer many times to tell me the details about how to block the updates from home router of Xplay client (to block the access to the update server when I find a version that works for me) but without any luck.
Can you please me if your app remembers the selections from filtering. For example a put a filter with “:only 4K resolution” and every time I exit and enter the Xplay app is not remembered. I think was a version or few in the past which were saving/remembering the filtering settings. Does your app rememebers the filter settings ?
Hi @bublikoff! Great App! Thanks a lot for your efforts and for helping Plex customers to make the best user of their TV’s
I’ve installed XPlay today on a LG 47LB650V-ZN and noticed the following:
#1 A 4K HEVC (high bitrate) movie cannot be played (nothing appears on Plex dashboard) #1.1 Seems like this is a known issue, according to the latest posts #1.2 Unfortunately the TV is not within my household (it’s from my Mom) and I cannot test it regularly #2 A 1080P H.264 (Average 15Mbps bitrate) movie buffers a lot, specially on high intensity scenes (a lot of movement) #2.1 My Upload is not restricted (200Mbit true upload) #2.2 Download bandwidth was 200Mbit and TV was connected via ethernet #3 Plex server version 1.15.4.919
I’ve been through Plex logs and there’s nothing out of the ordinary that helps with the above (had not activated debug logs).
Let me know if you want some specific tests. I’ll probably be able to conduct them next weekend.
I had almost lost all hope. But finally I can see my movies with Xplay. No more eternal red circle. No words can describe how happy I am. Massive thanks to you Bublikoff. I’ve followed your struggle with LG support and can honestly say that I’m impressed by your patience with their stupidity.
Just great. I guess when people update, some get working version, the others not. I was able to use xplay until todays update and no i cant watch anything anymore, i just got endless red spinning circle on every movie i want to watch.
Is there a solution to this because until today everything worked perfectly? How can i get working version again @bublikoff? Because the app with todays update became unusable to me!
For the moment Im waiting answer from LG engineers. As I can not fix this problem on my side. Ther are no changes since version 2.517.6xx and 2.517.7xx. I can seven say more version 2.715.622 and 2.715.704 are almost identical … just few changes since version 6xx were made … billing checking algorithm. There are no playback changes.
One user told me that he was able to get rid of endless red circle by playing with disabling and enabling secure connections on PMS. As I can guess the problem is somhow is connected with CERTs problems while TV is trying to comunicate with PMS. But I can not catch this issue on my side to debug it and I can not ask LG engineers to fix this problem as they also need to cacth the problem.
PS
And there could be one more posible problem … in case that user has plex pass, XPlay connecte over external address and PMS has speed limit for external connections. PMS may break playback
Hi folks, I’m new with this app. Everything works pretty fine, but after the last update, whenever I select a language or subtitle with a red (T) marked on the side, the app starts with the infinite red circle spinning and I can’t watch anything. But, with the same movie or Tv Show, if i select language or subtitles not marked with a red (T), then it works. Can I solve this problem by myself changing any setting or is this a bug from the app?
Thanks for your answer
Hi,
Also using Xplay for the past year on my LG OLED C7 and very happy with it! But now, I also have a problem with big 4k MKV files (bitrate above 40Mb/s). I used to play them just fine. Now I get a buffer every 10 sec. My network connection is fast enough. Connected with wifi 5Ghz. When I use the standard videoplayer of the tv it streams the big 4k movies just fine from the Plex-server (but no external .srt subs…). Anyone any thoughts? Thanks
No thoughts, other than I share this issue. I can no longer play 4k mkvs without a red circle every few seconds either. The official Plex app does work for me.
