same problem here… after updating to 601 it wont connect to the PlexNAS Server even after adressing the secure connection settings. running the 2.715.601 on WebOS 3.3.
same server, older version 2.715.530 on WebOS 4.1.0 working absolutely fine, after updating that one to 601, same error as on WebOS 3.3…
so it cant be LG or LG handling the network connections, as it worked flawlessly on the same system…
if we can help you in any way just tell us how
till then i gonna use the not so useable but working integrated dlna…
With newest version 601 resume doesn’t work at all (When you stop playing a show or movie and go to home screen it does not add it to continue watching.) @bublikoff
Hard to say exactly what is wrong as I do need a real broken connactivity. What I mean … I need PMS with which XPlay can not establish connection. Ive tried to ask ppl who have reported about the probelm to keep it as it is for a day. I need to test connectivity with it using webOS IDE debuging tools.
Buy the way I had a phone convesation with engineers about problems I have with webOS. And one of this problem was “secured connection” … and engineers also told me that its possibly the probelm with SSL cert. But its hard to say exactly … need to catch it and debug the app to get more information.
Propoly you could try to update PMS but in any case secured connection will propobly incerase the chance to catch buffering problem.
XPlay does not response for the “On deck (continue watching)” or “Recently added” sections … it requests it from PMS.
By the way … if speak about view offset … Ive made a fix in version 607. Now it should more correctly handle it.
Glad to hear things are progressing and LG is is becoming more responsive. As the bugs are getting ironed out, there are two features I’d love to see added:
Add up/down wheel navigation, via the remote, to the left flyout menu since you can only scroll up/down by pressing the arrows.
Add “Automatically Sign In” option to Settings. Most clients, including the native LG client, offer this feature.
@bublikoff
I’m in the latest version of Xplay (607) and using the latest PMS (1.15.3.876).
The good news is that resuming is working again and I do not see any other new problems yet.
The bad news is that it buffers randomly for very short periods of time on 4K high bit rate videos. The previous version was doing exactly the opposite : not working resuming, but no random buffering issues.
So overall is worse for me
so. i really like this app. the reason is simple: it does direct play when it’s supposed to! official plex app tries to transcode 90% of my HDR files for no reason…
BUT there’s one thing which makes this app unusable for me: i can’t find my playlists.
can anybody tell me where those are located?
maybe i really need to switch to emby. looks promising
STILL in the PIN loop@bublikoff.
I was wondering if the mp4 video of the issues has helped. Having the app for a year now, this is the first time I have hit this issue, making the app unusable. Pity.
Also Im confused.
The app PIN page ( bottom right of screen) says 2.715.609
the webOS ‘my store’ page for the app says I have 2.715.530 (dated 3rd March 2019)
The Plex server shows an app registered, but still XPlay requests a PIN code entry. Each time I enter a new PIN code I get a new activated app in the Server! etc etc.
All as my video sent to you shows.
I have deleted the app and reinstalled it. Tried all the security connections to server options (disabled, preferred, required). No joy.
Sorry … have tons of emails and can actually miss emails.
Ive discoverd a small logic bug with account linking code loop.
When using built in webOS browser the app lose focus and when linking done and you return to the app the app tries to restart itself. I can not fix this logic with online update but it will be fixed in next update for apps store. Unfortunatly the pice of source code is located in separate file which I can not modify with online update.
The only workaround is use another device fro linking … PC, Mobile phone and etc
Thanks @bublikoff using my mobile to link the account worked.
My joy was soon tarnished though
The BAD news is that the app wont play files it used to in previous versions ( mainly 4K),
It either says " This app will now restart to free up memory" ( LG prompt I assume) and restarts
OR
Reboots the TV!
Small file size 4K ( such as web-dl) seem fine. But larger 4K like Avatar just crash out as above.
So is it a question of bit-rate? Do I recall an LG limit of 50Mbps on 4K video - is that the issue here? Having said that Avatar used to play ok previously!
Ok, just to add to above… I experimented with the app settings.
IF I reduce the quality of the posters and artwork etc down to a minimum. ON SOME movies that did not play, the media page for that movie will now load. Unfortunately, the movie may not play, and sometimes still reboot the app or TV. Movies over 50mbps will not play regardless of the media quality setting changes.
So, does that reveal an app available memory issue in addition to a bit rate cap?
