XPlay (WebOS)

Thank you the answer. And what the situation with the other Audio track? I think it would be transcode but does nothing…

Why do you want to use transcoding? Which audio track is working and which is not? Need some more info.

That’s not matter. If I play any movie with X language I can’t change the language Y because “not support format” and there is a red (T) after the Audio or Subtitle.
Sample: sample

I tried your sample and it works for me with both audio streams.

On your Plex Media Server computer open Plex in your web browser and start to play your movie right in your browser. It might take a minute before it starts to play because of transcoding. Check if you can change the audio track in the browser. If it works then probably your TV is unable to handle the direct stream audio format or the one Plex is transcoding into.

XPlay was designed to direct stream audio and video to high quality sound systems and TVs. If your home theatre is not supporting those formats or you don’t mind transcoding, you may try to use the official Plex app, maybe it works better.

In my tv with Plex app works perfectly and it works with Emby. So I dont understand why doesnt works with Xplay…

In this case XPlay is either transcoding into a format your TV cannot handle or direct streaming and your TV again cannot handle the original formats.

Why do you prefer to use XPlay if Plex and Emby work well?

Bc Emby is very lagy/freeze alltime and the original Plex app can’t scroll in movie or series and doesn’t puts the next episode automatically.

@plexA320user wow that’s awesome, all my 4k videos are now working after I changed the subtitle files to SRT. Love it! Thanks for the help!

This may sound like a stupid question but I use a Logitecch remote with my TV meaning I only have direction keys for navigation in the apps. For some reason I cannot figure out a way to select the APPLY button in the Filter panel for Movies. There is no sequence of right, left, down, up that allows me to land on it. Does anyone else have this problem?

It works fine with the latest versions of Plex and Xplay as wel. Any file will play no matter the size. All direct play whereas Plex on LG TV app then fails to play or keeps buffering.

So XPLAY is dead ???

never had problems xplay, and of course I would like to have more discussion, because it would help the better the app, more webos 2.2 ja and too much right. we are already close to version 6

In case Xplay developer is still around.
MakeMKV released a few days ago a new build that makes possible to mux dual layer ( profile 7 with BL+EL) dolby vision content into a single video stream + even HD audio in an mkv container.
At the moment you must use mp4 to be able to watch dv videos but that container has several limitations like HD audio is a no go.

Any chance that xplay will be updated ?
How is this working anyways ? Even if the developer would code it LG still has to test and approve it before releasing right ? I guess that is not something that happens within months even in best case.

Hi, I would like to try the app. I have a LG 4k 43UK6500PLA . Thanks

Just my $0.02, you probably don’t. Support appears to be gone, and people are having mixed results with the app. Personal experience is that using the TV for 4K (if you plan to) is problematic, since the TV probably has a 100 mb/s interface (and wifi can be trouble).

Have any streaming boxes instead? I gave up a long time ago and started using an ATV 4k, haven’t looked back., haven’t used XPlay for a long time.

I play uncompressed UHD rips (even ones with Dolby Vision) on my B7 over ethernet with XPlay all the time; the 100mbps LAN port is not a problem. If you have issues with buffering, try disabling secure connections in Plex Network settings.

Hello
i have a question.
Is XPLAY support Cyrillic subtitles ?
i am from Bulgaria
and i know RUSSIAN but BG subtitles is better

Thanks!

If not aware, Xplay is no longer supported with no more development known…

Full stop.

If it works now great, but for how long?

It’s time to let go.

it’s sad is if true
i have no alternative to play my 4K movies with TrueHD audio :frowning:

Hello,
I searched for XPLAY in the LG store but it does not appear, I also tried to change the location of the store contents without results. Can you help me? Thank you
