I don’t have the problem. Only fix would be to filter your channels down to only the ones you watch with xteve. I have @ 90 channels with my own homemade guide sourced from zap2it with 8 days of data. Gets to be @ 16MB.
Don’t ask me how to filter. It’s documented in the xteve dokumentation.
Hi, what local path do I use for the m3u file if xTeVe is being run from inside docker?
figured it out myself /xteve_tmp/ZgemmaFavs09112019.m3u
I’ve been trying to use more than one tuner with Plex, but have found out that they must be of the same type eg. all cable, all OTA, they can’t be a mix of cable and OTA.
I see that xTeVe supports more than one tuner too, but does it support a mix of tuner types? Or would I have run two docker containers of xTeVE? (Don’t even know if this is possilbe, just theorising) ?
I am trying to find out how to get xTeve to work. I have xTeve version 2.1.0, build 0100 running and configured. I configured Plex but none of the streams work. I keep reading about the Beta Key but How do I get one?
xTeVe works fine for me in docker on my Synology NAS taking a feed from my Zgemma cable box and exporting it to Plex. Just need to find out if xTeve can combine tuners from multiple devices or is it limited to multiple tuners from a single device?
Is there a way to make Plex see more than one Tuner?
I had my mappings wrong and had no EPG CATEGORY set so all my channels showed in plex as movies.
Iv corrected this in Xteve however I cant get it to change in Plex.
Iv restarted Plex, deleted the DVR completely, turned off enhanced guide etc etc but Plex still sees all channels as Movies.
Any ideas?
Hi…
Plex TV guide does not replicate Xteve channel listing at all… This is very weird as when i setup the LiveTV function in Plex and go through the process, it shows at the channel mapping stage to all be correct i.e Plex says that Channel 1001 will be the same as Xteve is showing for CH 1001. However, once it has downloaded the guide etc, all the channels are completely different.
example:
Xteve Ch.1003 is UK CNN
Plex Ch.1003 is showing as Sky News.
Plex Ch.1003 plays UK CNN.
Pretty much all my EPG is messed up…any ideas?
thnx
Because I still have a problem with the TV program buffer on a web browser:
Maybe you know how to install VLC on Qnap? Maybe he would help?
I’m not using the EPG from my IPTV provider because it is wrong in most cases. In plex I selected a local cable provider’s EPG and mapped my IPTV channels to the cable channels. This works fine.
QUESTION: Is there a way to save the plex channel mapping (see above) ? Is it stored in a file I can back up? I don’t want to have manually map all my channels again if I delete the xteve tuner or the DVR. Or is there a way to map channels in xteve in a way they will automatically align with the cable EPG channel IDs in plex (i.e all manual work done in xteve, automatic association in plex)?
I believe the idea of xTeVe (if you watch the YouTube Videos) is that you do all the channel mapping inside xTeVe, then instead of using Plex’s TV guides, you instead choose the XMLTV channel mappings you created inside xTeVe.
Hello everyone,
I’m pretty new to this Plex/xteve/freenas world and I have been having a hard time setting it up. I followed the instructions provided but I haven’t been able to have xteve run continuosly. I can get everything to work but it’s as if the xteve service won’t keep running in the background.
I tried creating another user and running it but I get an error when I tried the chmod command. Any ideas where I could find more specific instructions ?
VOD M3U
Xteve Works great for live tv M3U links but how can we make VOD M3U work? …each episode shows as a channel)?
Thanks for the help!!
Did you get an answer to this question? I am wondering the same thing.
Not really. I see it as two options - you try to forward the plex server port assuming your VPN supports it. Or there is a way to also change the route table to bypass the VPN for local streaming out. In the end I just ran VPN directly on all devices and use native apps. Running IPTV through plex is a nice to have for me - plus its getting harder with providers since they prefer not to give the M2U urls for security purposes (e.g. the xtreme codes raid).
Howdy, all!
I am just curious:
With xTeVe, I will still need to find a IPTV provider, correct? If yes, y’all would recommend a monthly subscription one, I’d assume?
Also, for antenna wise, what do you guys recommend?
Thank you!

Jayxter, did you get any help from anyone yet? I am having the same problems. I’m trying to setup xTeVe on my Synology 918+ NAS where my Plex Server is already running, and cannot get xTeVe working.
I’d need some help to get all this figured out so that I can watch iPTV using the Plex App on my Apple TV, and I also have a HDHomeRun Tuner already setup with Plex.
I am sure I am just being an idiot, but I’d even be willing to pay someone to help me. I’m in Toronto Canada.
HELP
Is ANYONE willing to help me out?
