I recently configured Xteve on my Plex server box (Windows based) and everything comes up great and seems to work fine except for one glaring issue and I’m not sure if this is with the Plex server or with Xteve - I’m connected to my IPTV provider and I can see all streams and epg updates fine, no problems. I have to use filters to cut down on the amount of streams I get (Plex limitation there) so I have created two filters to get what I need - first filter is for KID content where I include <Disney,Nick,Disney,PBS> and the second is for HD content where I include <CNN,DISCOVERY,HISTORY,NAT,SYFY> just to test things out. The filters work fine and I get back 31 streams matching what is in the filters I have configured. I setup up Live TV and DVR on my Plex server and everything looks perfect while configuring the service, not a single issue. However, once I attempt to view the Guide, I only see the content from one of my Filters and not the other. I’ve gone through this process 10 different times today changing things slightly in the Xteve configuration but the results are always the same. I’ve done my due diligence with optimizing the Plex database and cleaning bundles between any changes and bringing things up/down in the right order but it makes no difference.
Has anyone else run across this and is this a simple limitation when trying to use more than one filter in Xteve? Or is this an issue with the Plex server? I’m leaning more towards the latter since I can see all of the streams I selected in BOTH filters when I view the DVR settings in Plex but when I view it, I"m only seeing the streams from one filter. Any ideas out there?
What has worked for me in the past… If any changes are made to Xteve setup I have had to remove the TV/DVR from Plex and wait till everything with Xteve has completed including getting the epg data if that is how you setup yours. Then create the TV/DVR in Plex scan the channels etc…
Thanks for the reply - and yes, I do the that same thing. I delete TV/DVR from Plex and then I even optimize the database and clean bundles, wait for Xteve to complete, shut it down, shut down Plex, launch Plex, launch Xteve, and then add the TV/DVR back into Plex where the configuration in flawless and everything is there but when I view the Guide, only one filter shows. It’s so frustrating…I’m really not sure what else I can try.
I’m not sure there is way to do that since the channels I want to have on Plex are in two or three different “Group Titles” in the filter configuration area. I can only have one “Group Title” per filter so in order to do what I want, I have to have more than one filter setup. And this method works fine all the way through to where I want to view the available channels in the Guide area in Plex. Maybe there is an xml or cache file for the TV/DVR settings somewhere in the Plex installation directory so I may poke around in there to see what I can find.
Well, I just brought up Plex on my ATV and all the channels were there…maybe it’s a simple browser cache issue on my PC but it seems to be fine now. Go figure…
