I'm seeing a large amount of activity today in the terminal window where plexconnect is running. ex) 42-courier.push.apple.com another.... init-p01st.push.apple.com
Is this normal during apple's updating of apps for the apple tv? Of course nothing is getting through
My guess is, that those belong to Apple's push notification system, that would be involved in adding all those apps to the home screen... but I'm really not certain here.
What do you mean with "nothing is getting through"? These DNS requests should get handled and resolved correctly, actually enabling the normal operation of your aTV.
What I mean is that none of the newer apps are showing up on the aTV's main page, example the new abc one is not there along with others. I thought this was by design since Plexconnect is set to not allow any updates etc...
Guess its time to get current then. If I remember correctly, just change it back to auto DNS and turn-on update, do it, reboot, then reset for Plexconnect - right?
Pretty sure 5.3 doesn't get the pushed channel additions. If you want those (and everything else that comes with the newer firmware), it's totally safe to update at this point.
And yep, you can do it that way. Could also just set prevent_atv_udpate to False in settings.cfg, then check for updates on the ATV.
