Your Server Is Signed in to Plex, but Is Not Reachable From Outside Your Network Fix?

I have had this problem for years and it has frustrated me enough for me to want to fix it so here’s what I know about the situation.

I have Google WiFi puck routers, 3 to be exact that are all connected. My computer is connected via Ethernet and connected to that same router via Ethernet is my friend’s computer, which Plex works completely fine with. I have tried several different computers yet it never works for me. I have already tried port-forwarding in the past but unfortunately, that didn’t fix anything.

I’m not certain what to do at this point, no one may be able to help but any attempts to do so would be greatly appreciated!

Just to add an extra detail here, according to Plex my computer will connect to their servers for about 10-20 seconds but will inevitably shut off again. Also, if it matters here is the error message that Plex gives me, “It looks like your server may be connected to the internet through multiple routers or other network devices. Try connecting it directly to your primary device, or visit our support site for more information about troubleshooting this “Double-NAT” scenario.”

Is this how your Plex server is connected?

Plex Server <-----> Google Puck <-----> ISP modem/router <-----> Internet

And the other two Google pucks are wireless, forming the mesh, correct?

Where is your friend’s Plex Server connected, to the Google puck or the ISP device?

A Double-NAT situation exists when the Plex server is behind two routers (both the Google & ISP device functioning as routers). This prevents direct remote access from working.

The most often used solution is to change one of the routers to work in Bridge Mode (also referred to as Access Point mode).

Before we head down that path, please confirm how your equipment is connected.

Also, please confirm how your friend’s Plex Server is connected, If that server is connected to the same device as yours, I’m not sure how it is avoiding the same double-nat situation.
