OK, I just want to make something clear from the off, I am talking about Cloud sync and not Plex Cloud and I am very aware of the differences between the two.
I have signed up for Amazon Cloud (in prep for Plex Cloud) and thought why not give the Cloud Sync feature a blast so I can test and see how reliable and stable it is playing directly from the cloud.
I have authorised Cloud sync with my account/server
I then went to my content, selected a movie (and many different files since) and selected Sync to Amazon Cloud.
Plex creates the Sync folder in my cloud storage
Nothing happens. Waiting to upload once it has converted.
I know that there are other links to this but I want a clean slate and for other people with the issues to post here.
I am currently running Windows Server 2012. I have a Dell server with 32GB RAM x2 Xeon Processors etc so my server is powerful enough.
My ports are manually forwarded and I am not using UPNP. I have tested read/wite access to the folder i the cloud. I have deleted, unlink, re auth, done everything I can think of.
I have the same issue. Cloud Synced “The Legend of Tarzan” on original quality, Plex decided to convert/transcode anyways. It sat in the “waiting to upload” part for quite some time but never uploaded so I canceled it. Tries something smaller so I synced Ozzy’s No More Tears album at 192kbs transcode, the files eventually wen up on ACD sometime overnight (did a few checks while I was still awake and it was doing the same thing as Tarzan). They showed up on the Cloud sync server for a few days but now I don’t even have the dropdown anymore. The files are still on ACD though with their pseudo encrypted names in the folder Plex created. Reauthorizing ACD on my profile did not help.
Cloud Sync has always been hot garbage for me. Was only able to upload 2 movies out of all the times I tried. Couldn’t get surround sound. Couldn’t get multiple language audio streams. Just wouldn’t upload most times.
Best to forget about it and move on.
Emby has a better implementation of this.
That said, Plex Cloud is where it’s at… Well, will be…
I understand, but it hasn’t worked properly for anybody that I’ve seen posting here in over 2 years… Your call if you want to spend time fiddling around with this when they’re clearly investing elsewhere.

I wonder if we can grab the converted files and manually upload them to the plex Cloud Sync folder and see if plex picks it up
You can’t unfortunately.
If you can post your logs it will give some indication as to what;s going on. CloudSync does work, I have several terabytes of CloudSync data on ACD that has been working for my extended family for over a year.
Now that Plex Cloud is out though I have transitioned them to using it
I just tried something since amazon has not synced anything for me in days. I unlinked amazon and used my Google drive and synced the same files I attempted with amazon immediately. So unfortunately amazon isn’t working.
Just to prove myself not crazy I linked amazon back in tried again and nothing synced. Didn’t even try to upload.

The same thing happened to me when I tested what you did.

I couldn’t make my Amazon Cloud sync work either…
I applied for the Beta, but even as a lifetime Plex Pass member I never received a reply …
I’d sure like to get something working for my extended family spread across a large geography.
Well it would be nice to hear something from Plex at least confirming there is an issue uploading to Amazon. Luckily I’m in my 3 month period with amazon. The main reason for me signing up was for cloud sync. I hate having multiple servers at different locations and was looking for a easy solution.
I may give Emby another shot since everyone says their sync works correctly
Well I’ve played around some more. I found by reverting back to 1.1.4.2757 I now have upload ability for amazon again. Seems 1.2.2.2857 broke the upload ability on Amazon for me at least. I have 2 servers, one running one version and the other running a different version. If I install 1.1.4.2757 on the second server it will start uploading as well. I’ve decided to let each server run a different version to see if the newer version ever does anything.
HT highway. I’ll be happy to provide logs if you want. You want the working and non working server?
Quick question for you since you have plex cloud. Does media appear in the clear as you have it named or does it do like cloud sync does and give you a random filename. I don’t like the idea of Amazon deciding to close my account down because they feel I have something illegal in my drive. I don’t but I can see Amazon going oh look he has such and such he’s illegal.

I like mentioned several posts up… If you can post your logs it will give some indication as to what’s going on so we can help you.
Cloud Sync doesn’t work at all in the latest version of Plex as shown over here and is spotty at best in the previous version. Hell, I’ve been providing logs numerous times for almost a month with not much in terms of a response.

So will reverting back to 1.1.4.2757 delete any existing content I already have up in Amazon? I’m willing to downgrade if it fixes the uploading to Amazon, but I don’t want to downgrade if it’s going to delete all the stuff I already have up there.
Before I attempt, @jbac13 and @JRentfrow , does downgrading affect the existing content that was already successfully synced? I want to make sure previously uploaded content doesn’t break or get deleted. I have quite a few movies already synced to Amazon, and wouldn’t want to have to start from scatch again.

You know that is my post you’re linking to, right?
If you follow my instructions there, then existing Cloud Sync content will remain.
Downgrading doesn’t fix all issues, just the one introduced in the latest Plex Pass release from Oct 4 where nothing uploads. The other issue of duplicate files being uploaded and not everything syncing still remains as they are not build specific.
