I would say no, in fact I am here to figure out how to role back.
Thanks for your feedback. Will try to avoid the new version for the next months.
I tried it 1.15.1.710ă1.15.1.791ă1.15.2.793 these 3 versions.
Hevc video can not hard decoded, cpu has been 100%.
Fall back to 1.14.1.5488, everything is fine
Windows server on nuc7i5bnh
Why does 1.15 have a stable public release then? Anyway that KS for your feedback. I will certainly avoid 1.15 for a while.
Plex 1.15.xxx releases have all broken DVR and EPGuide for me. Very frustrating gone back to Version 1.14.1.5488 which while not perfect was very stable. Tried clean installs of 1.15.x releases and they all have issues with DVR and EPG. Some of the 1.15.2x releases even have issues with displaying the dashboard, we seem to be going backwards with plex right now. very sad.
same here with windows 10 .
Why do they push this as a stable public release then?
Lesson learned I hope.
Never update anything in Plex for at least two weeks after a stable release.
You mean âtwo monthsâ.
You mean âtwo yearsâ
Yes, unfortunately. I would love to support the Plex team, but ⊠This forum shows why I just canât.
I guess one could look at it that way⊠I say stick to what works, that seems to work for me, lol⊠Heck I still use 1.13.8 and have no issues. Iâm sure Iâll go to 1.14 soon but Iâm in no real hurry. Truth be told anyway, I only really upgrade when I start getting texts from friends stating their playstations and whatnot need me to upgradeâŠNo one has asked me in a very long timeâŠ
Donât forget the forums are folks having problems. There are hundreds of thousands (more?) not having problems. I am one of those.
@JoePhelps: If thatâs the case, how did you do the update to 1.15 without having any issues?
Up til 1.14 i also never had any issues. Maybe 1 or 2 hickups but not like the last 1.15 update.
Regards
Hans
It just works. Maybe because itâs Linux instead of Windows. Maybe because itâs a purpose-built server to run Plex and nothing else.
lol. I hear that alot!
Hi, I also run linux, debian in a readynas.
Did you save any dbâs or settings file?
Since it says for me that it will uninstall 1.14 before installing 1.15.
I donât want to lose any statistics.
Regards
Hans
I just backed up Plex first and did the upgrade over the existing install. Nothing else needed.
I, too, have no problems with 1.15 and I am on Windows 10. I think the most probable reason we have no problems is that you and I are both running servers that have no other regular duties.
While Plex is designed to run with other programs it is really a lot like a little kid and often does not play well with others. In many cases you are doing good to get two kids to play with the same set of blocks at the opposite ends of the same room.
There is also a general rule for servers that to be most reliable the should serve and little else.
BTW: When I upgraded I simply upgraded. I took no special precautions at all. It just upgraded and then worked fine.
No. 1.15 isnât worth the upgrade with all the bugs it has. I rolled back to 1.14 after fighting with 1.15 since itâs release. During that time I didnât see anything it brought to the table worth fighting the bug over. Iâm running it on Centos 7.6.
