It looks like Plex has completely screwed me with the EPG change. Regardless of the version of 1.16.1.x My DVR is hosed. I’m currently running 1.16.1.1291. I’ve followed the suggested action of completely deleting my DVR setup and starting fresh along with downloading the full guide data but nothing helps.
The problem:
I have been using the DVR feature for some time. I have several shows set to only DVR new episodes as I have a decent library containing previous seasons and episodes for the shows I enjoy watching. The 1.16.1 updates list previous seasons and episodes as new and my DVR shows it will be recording basically around the clock to grab shows I already have in my library. I’m furious. Of course Plex will not respond to any tweet and there is no way to open a ticket with support on their webpage. I suppose when you’re a lifetime member they don’t care about you anymore as they have already taken your money. I’m pissed.
I’m so irritated with Plex right now. Like most here I have a lot of time dedicated in configuring and maintaining my Plex library and settings. It looks like they are rushing their new EPG partner out the door and failed to do any testing prior. Now they won’t acknowledge or respond to any posts mentioning problems with DVR settings. If the server won’t respect the settings of new airings only or HD only why have them?

Not sure which part of the world you’re both in, but the UK Guide is much the same, either that or showing TBA or Uknown Airings for quite a few channels, including the main BBC & Commercial channels.
As a prolific Beta tester with a few others, we were hoping for a new guide last Thursday, but something wasn’t quite right from what we were told and we had to wait till July 1st. I am hoping that Plex will do their magic at the last minute, but if not I have TVHeadend and Antenna’s on my Ubuntu Powered HTPC ready to brew my own guide and hopefully get TVHeadend streaming to Plex after a reboot.
I share with 5 family members remotely, and they use Live TV a lot, and have commented on how the TV Guide has gone to the toilet!!
Hope this little information helps? and here’s hoping over the next 24 hours it’s fixed, or else it won’t be just Beta testers complaining that Plex will have to endure, it’ll be Public, just hope they are prepared for the fallout and have tin hats and hasmat suits ready!!
