1.18.0.1846 still failing with external VOBSUB

Trying to watch a video in Firefox with subtitles as external VOBSUB still causes segfault in the transcoder. Enabling or disabling HW-transcoding doesn’t change anything. The same video works fine with SRT-subtitles or with subtitles disabled.

Tested with NVIDIA Shield TV as the server and with an Ubuntu Linux 19.04 - server.

Thank you for the report. Can you please attach your “Plex Media Server.log” that covers this failure?

Sent as a private message. Though, the log-file just shows a segfault. At least I don’t see any particularly useful information there.

Hi @gaygirlie_hotmail.com I looked art your logs and can see the crash in the transcoder. I have tried using external IDX + SUB files and they work here.

Is it with all of your files or just Deadpool ?

Did the IDX + SUB you tried have multiple subtitle-tracks in it? I just tested some of my movies and it’s the same thing for all of the ones I tested: some of the tracks in the external VOBSUBs work, but then some of them cause the crash, like e.g. for Deadpool 2, two of the subtitle-tracks work fine and two of them crash. On the other hand, all the ones with only a single track in the VOBSUB so far seem to work. I mean, I haven’t yet tested every single thing in my library, but it seems to me like the issue appears only when the VOBSUB-files contain multiple track.

Would it help, if I sent a zip containing some of the offending VOBSUBs?

Issue persists with 1.18.0.1900

Hey guys just an update to let you know we have reproduced this now, and it is with our development team to investigate.
