1.5.3 Update issues

I meant to put this in the General Discussion Category because it seems there are many problems with the latest update, but it got sent to Linux (probably my fault since I don’t post often.) Since upgrading to PMS 1.5.3.3580-4b377d2954 (64 bit Ubuntu 16.10) on Thursday, playing any file with 5.1 dts gets this error: “Conversion Failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.” Optimizing the file to a stereo version allows playback. This occurs on both my ROKU TV and my ROKU 2. IT seems the update broke something in PMS’ ability to transcode audio files. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix or workaround coming?

Error “Conversion Failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install” since 1.5.3 update

I rolled back to version 1.4.4 and now I’m getting this error “Video unavailable. We’re unable to play this video, make sure the server is running and has access to this video.” when I try to play the 5.1 file. The stereofile is playing fine though.

I’m getting the “Conversion Failed. A required…” on my iPhone as well. The movie is an MKV. I have 2 servers. One running 1.5.3.3580 (This one wont work unless it’s an M4V or MP4) and the other is running 1.4.4.3495. <— This version is working JUST fine… AND it’s a MUCH MUCH slower/weaker server.

I did “Optimize” the video and it then worked on the 1.5.3 but I DO NOT need to do that on the 1.4.4.

Help?

I download the 64bit and installed it. that worked for me. i am running 4.3
