1 Server with 2 Plex Pass/Plexamp Users?

Hello all,

I have what is probably a bit of a dim question, but…

I’ve been happily using Plexamp for months now, whilst my wife has been cursing the Android Plex app!

Before committing to purchasing a second Plex Pass for my wife, I’d like to confirm that if she gets a Plex Pass, she will also be able to use Plexamp on the same Plex server that we have running at home?

She currently has a (standard?) Plex account but has not paid for Plex Pass.

Free Access to Plex apps (Plex Pass).

If the admin of the Plex Home has an active Plex Pass subscription, all members of a Plex Home (both Managed Users and regular accounts) will be able to use our regular mobile Plex apps from the various app stores without doing a separate one-time, in-app activation purchase.


Add her as a user to your Plex Home. She will inherit your Plex Pass capabilities without having to purchase a separate Plex Pass.

  1. Add her as a user to your Plex Home.
  2. install plexamp on her phone and sign it into your Plex account
  3. test plexamp if everything is working
  4. perform “switch user” inside plexamp to her account

Wow! Okay, thank you both. That sounds very generous. I expected 1x Plex Pass = 1x Plexamp. I’ll follow your instructions and see how I get on.
