Can someone explain plex amp app permissions?

I manage the music server. Its @64gb on a win 10 server, running plex media server, i have a plex pass.

I switched from Android to IOS on mobile. Works great carried subscription (s) over no problems. My wife downloaded plexamp (IoS/iphone) for client, is an authorized user, on the server I figured at most she might be charged 5$.

It is saying she needs a Plex Pass. That can’t be right, right?

Are there certain “family” permissions- what? Just for access to the server instead of the app via plexamp.? She paid the $5 for the Plex App.

Plexamp is a faster, better, media player that works great with airplay.

Can someone help me understand pricing/permission for users to use plexamp instead of the full app just for media.?

Thanks in advance,

Plexamp is separate from the regular android app and yes it is only available to Plex Pass users. It should be also be able to used by anyone in your Plex Home since you have a Plex Pass.

To add your wife’s account to your Plex Home under manage library access click on her account then on this page click the House icon to invite her account to your home ( there will be a popup to confirm)

Then when she is logged into her account under Plex Home settings she can accept the invitation by clicking he check mark

thank you will try that after work today, its a great app. perfect for just her and I.

Bigwheel itt worked great, looked like everything was there for her except in playlists, there were 5 on the server and my plex amp there are 6, that is about all I could see.

Is there a sync (i tried pulling down) i do need to look at it more maybe its grouped in a box but the layout is different than mine. I did not change anything in settings when i downloaded mine and hers.

There are two playlists in hers that are blank with a red star i think one reads tracks.

Thanks for your help, like i mentioned i am a pc guy and android mobile, the move to ios is different for me, but airplay is good i have to admit.

thanks again

Plexamp does make a couple of default playlists with red hearts, one for Favorite Tracks and another called Fresh (fav tracks not heard lately). Both are based on they were given star ratings to tracks, so if she had not rated tracks then they would be empty

thank you
