Please do the following:
-
Turn DEBUG logging back ON. leave VERBOSE OFF - DEBUG ON is the default and consumes no more space than with it off. (it’s only 50 MB of space either way)
-
Recreate the problem so DEBUG logging will show what it’s doing.
-
After failure, wait 30 seconds for logs to settle
-
Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs
-
Attach the ZIP file here please.
-
Please state which player this is playing on as that will have an impact on what PMS decides to do (The player is always in control).
Also please hover over the item , Get Info -> View XML
Attach that XML here so I may see the codecs as identified by PMS.
Hope this helps

BTW only subs that works is srt… vosubs, ea ssa all fail
I will obtain some subtitles for one of my media files and investigate.
I see in the testing logs where this was checked and verified so I will try to recreate your results and discover why you’re having a problem.
Thanks
Reverted to PlexMediaServer-1.18.0.1913-e5cc93306-x86_64 that still works correctly for non srt subtitles
Were you able to reproduce the error(s)
No. I’m still trying to but one of the other QA staff members thinks he has.
He is away a few days now and out of comm.
I will be able to verify status when he returns.
Thanks for the update
I just wanted to say that I am getting this issue as well when I am running any type of show with non-srt subs. I went back to 1.18.0.1846 to solve this issue.
Any update?
Any updates?
I have read over this thread and it is not clear what the issue is. There is mention of subtitles not working, but that is not clear… Do they fail to display, do they cause playback to not start? do they prevent HW transcoding from working? Does it affect all clients? etc.
Would someone be able to summarise the issue and what “not working” looks like?
Thanks
When any subtitle format other than srt…

That looks like this issue Hardware Transcoding broken when burning subtitles ApolloLake-based Synology NASes
If you notice I did cross post the issue. Is there any progress?
We have reproduced it and are working on a fix. I’ll post an update in the linked thread when we have something to share.
