2 PMS onthe same account

Is it possible to install 2 instances of PMS on 2 different plateforms (i.e. windows and a NAS) using the same account ?
Thznk’s a lot for you help

Sure, I have two.

There are people that have four or five or even more for one reason or another.

Hi
My apologies for digging up what seems to be an old thread.
Let me try to describe my circumstances.
Background:
I have a Plex media server currently running on a Windows 10 machine. I also have several Plex clients accessing this server over my home network. The libraries on this PMS (let’s call it Home) are custom named. Remote access is disabled. I really don’t want to have hackers snooping on my private information.

Over the past few years, I accumulated content on this server, that is just too big for my ipod classic (160 gb) to store. (I also have itunes running on the same box which runs plex. The reason for Apple, was that it was the only small device with lots of storage that I could sync content to - and take with me on a long vacation. As one can see, with increased content , I can’t do so anymore.

I had been on the lookout for portable multi-TB storage options - and after a long while noticed that Western Digital Wireless Pro is the ticket. Better yet - it supports running the Plex server directly. It seems that if I buy it, I could have a second PMS - let’s call it CAR.

The ideal use case is thus:
If I were listening to a song on my android mobile (configured with my plex account) off Home, and , I needed to drive out to say another city, I should be able to complete listening to the song off the same plex account in any device configured with CAR. Needless to say, CAR would work off the same network as Home , when both PMS are co-located. When CAR is away from the location, it should be possible to access CAR over it’s own wifi or tether it to a mobile phone hotspot.

I may be asking for a huge deal - but, if this is not possible, can I atleast - configure my mobile phone plex client to have the option to choose which PMS to play content from (Home or Car)? - How?

Appreciate any thoughts.
