After running DVR successfully for months, 2 new issues have popped up as of the last 1-2 releases:
Hung Tuner - DVR still says it’s recording well past the show’s end time despite being at 100%
some programs record, others error out (logs below)

*** Note that one of my tuner’s is hung on a recording from 12pm yesterday, Bob the Builder. When I click on it, it says it’s 100% complete.
The only way to free up the hung tuner is to restart PMS, and then it will get hung on a different recording.

The Unknown Error has occured is not very helpful. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? TIA!
I would suggest that first you upgrade to 1.7.5 as i suspect allot of bug fixes have been getting deployed by Plex in those minor releases. Are you removing allot of recordings soon after. It looks like allot of the content isn’t on the box as you don’t have the Play icon on them.

I’m on Ubuntu 16.04 and didn’t start seeing this issue until 1.7.5. Seems the transcoder processes are hung (at least in my case) because each show that has the complete red circle with yellow all the way around it have a transcoder process still running well after the end time. When looking at the status of the recording, it says recording 120-200 percent complete. The only way to fix is to stop PMS. I had 6 shows recording and 2 of the shows actually had something in the .grab folder (which I was able to move to my TV Shows library and were OK) before starting PMS. The other recordings had nothing in the .grab directory.

Should say, that Plex thinks the program is still recording. HDHomeRun also shows the tuner is still locked until the show finished. Plex requires a server restart to actually finish recording. The file in the grab folder stops updating part way through, but HDHomeRun still shows the lock in place.

Me too. I upgraded to 1.7.6 this morning and all of my recordings were hung. I downgraded to 1.7.2 to see if the hung recordings will go away.
Running Version 1.15.1.710 on Win 10. I know this thread was created a while back for version 1.7… but I have found this condition still exists. I have TWO Wintv Dual tuners connected to my cable system receiving QAM channels. Last night the entire system hung. Four tuners were recording. Although programs were done (100%) the tuners did not release and so any additional programs could not get recorded. The status lights on the tuners were all off (therefore, not picking anything up) and when I went to the System Settings/Live TV & DVR screen, it showed TWO tuners in use on device 1 (expected) and THREE tuners in use on device 2 (it only has 2 tuners). Totally whacked. I suspect issues with the Plex Tuner Service tasks, but not sure. Running with 16GB Ram, SSD used for Plex files and transcode. C’mon Plexers, talk to me.
