perhaps consider reaching out to the users who’ve reported the issue to gather the necessary logs.

The QA folks have reproduced and have their own logs. If devs feel they need more I will ask for them

good to hear, could they provide us with an ETA?

I’m sorry they still have not figured out the root cause so I don’t have an ETA. They are curently investigating some components that they think are related to the issue.

I am experiencing the same issue on my Philips 43PUS8887/12 AndroidTV.

Yesterday, I was able to get three songs playing at the same time on my GoogleTV w/Chromecast (Plex App)! Cool, but undesired

Since we are discussing unwanted features - the static screen when music is playing is great on non-OLED TVs.

I created a thread about the static screen and possible burn in for OLED’s back in Jan 2021, although no one seemed to care a s*** about it, and so it ended up getting closed.

No one is listening. Strangely enough, when I cast from Plexamp to Android TV there is a nice screen with all track details, album art and text move from side to side to avoid burn-in.

There is so much potential for the Music section, adding proper Audio Book support/scrapping, Visualiser, Artist/Album details etc etc. Seems like focus is 100% on Plexamp so why not create Plexamp App for all platforms and link it through the Plex App Music Section.

Plexamp or plex app for android are totally useless. Every time the app is open it stop the the music which curently playing on android tv plex app or/and start playing random song togethere with new one requested on android app or stop the music all togheter and all apps need to be force closed. This is a normal behavior?

Hope this will be solved. I’m having the same issue on Plex Android TV app on my Phillips 50PUS8807/12.

Same issue on Chromecast.

I know Plex doesn’t care, but please get the bugs fixed before working on new features.

The end of 2023 is nigh and still no resolution to this music duplication issue? PLEX cannot be trying too hard to fix this, so make your choices. What’s next? Two films playing at the same time?

This issue is affecting me as well. Chromecast with GoogleTV.

Only fix I have is to FORCE STOP and start again.

It is almost a broken deal for now. I tried it to stream audio over my Firestick 4k. The experience was so horrible, that I stopped using this feature completely and dropped the idea of going premium altogether.

Still the same issue here on both a Shield Pro 2017 and Shield pro 2019.

Same issue here with a Shield Pro 2019 (latest versions of all software). I’m seeing some other strange behavior. When I go to play anything, it will not only play multiple tracks, but it will not start at the beginning. I’ve had times when Plex will play a different track than what I selected (while still playing the background track).

Nothing I do will stop it. Force exiting Plex, playing other apps, clearing Plex cache, etc. I even force exited all apps and restarted my Shield. Same background track always plays.

This does not happen on my Apple devices, including multiple Apple TVs. It’s only the Shield. Of course, I have the Shield on the best system to take advantage of the Shield not processing my audio like the Apple insists on doing.

The various.issues you mention in your post I have also experienced on my Shield - let’s hope Plex can resolve it.
