Plex is great on movies, TV shows, general videos, etc., but for plain music audio, I find it very lacking. 9 out of 10 times, I can’t get a song to play without hearing two tracks playing at the same time, one slightly delayed. I can press STOP, and both tracks stop. IT takes five minutes sometimes just to start a track and hear it properly.
I’d be open to some helpful advice. I am running a Windows server: Ryzen 7 3700X w/32GB. The player is an Nvidia Shield Pro.
That is the version of Plex Web.
Plex Media Server version is further down the page: Settings → Server_Name → General.
Known problem with Android TV clients. Make sure the Plex Android TV app is up to date on the Shield (via Google Play Store app). Some people report the problem is fixed on their systems (see thread).
Okay, I got you. You said “Shield” app instead of Plex, so I looked there.
Yes, I found an update, doing now. I thought these updated automatically? Kinda’ weird that I get server update notices for Plex on my Shield, but not for the client.
Sure hope this is the cure. Thanks for your help. I’ll report back my findings if you like.
