There’s not going to be a definitive answer to this until (or if) it’s released. There aren’t official timelines or updates on unreleased features (which grid view is for PMP).
Anecdotally, PMP/10’ UI HTPC clients have not been a real focus for Plex since around the time of Plex Home Theater. Plex’s development resources have been focused on streaming devices and they seem content letting PMP languish into a pile of increasingly unusable garbage.
I do too, but I do maintain that option when something just refuses to behave… and somebody is going to have to think of a fresh, new way to explain to me why a MOUSE can’t be used to control PMP in TV View ‘cause the way they’ve been explaining it - ain’t workin’!

Totally agree with you. I was more hoping to just remind the devs that they’ve said this was going to be a thing in the past. I think 2 years is more than enough time to put it in.
I downloaded the PMP v3 forum release to test, and that doesn’t have it either. Real shame.
@KaraokeAmerica
I guess I never noticed because I use streaming devices for all my TV’s now.
I have a Shield on my projector in the other room, but on the main TV we have the Plex server setup underneath it. I’d use another Shield but… Spending $200+ AUD on a streaming device when I already have the PC running on the TV feels wasteful. I mean, the PC has to be on anyway, so might as well use it as the player as well. But I totally get what you’re saying.
I constantly go back and forth on it. I guess the Shield uses so little power that it wouldn’t really increase my power bills… But still.
If I could get an idea from the devs if this feature is EVER coming. I could make a decision more easily on whether to buy another Shield.
I am surprised you guys talk about Live TV grid view for PMP. I have version 2.58 and don’t even have Live TV in the menu.
I do have it using the Plex app for iOS on my iPad but not on PMP.
Is there a misunderstanding from my part or have I done something wrong?
I also agree with you that PMP has not received the love it deserves. I see all kinds of fancy nice features lke “Skip intro” detection, etc but PMP misses a lot of these nice features.
Actually I thought Live TV was one of those nice features that PMP did not get.
Would also like to see the Live TV grid in PMP please.
Just set up a HTPC for the first time in years (recently refurbed the living room and ditched the xbox in favour of a long hdmi run to the server closet).
Absolutely baffled to find that basic keyboard navigation doesn’t work in Plex for Windows…
No, you aren’t misunderstanding anything - Live TV isn’t in PMP as it has been left to ‘wither on the vine’ by the Plex team. No new features coming - Plex Media Player 3.0 feedback
