All the devs are out at some company meeting/conference until May 10th, so response time has been limited to only a few support staff.
LOL, that is hilarious! I wish I had a job like that where I could drop a completely refactored application with new library dependencies and then be out of the office for a week.
Mine is sort of working on my iPhone & iPad, all the commercial channels e.g. 7 & 9 (in Australia!) are fine but all of the government channels like ABC and SBS get the CoreMediaErrorDomain error 1718449215. What that means is beyond me, anyone got any ideas? Using a HDHomerun Connect.
Same issue. Got the new iOS app forced on me and not live tv errors āa server with the specified host name doesnāt existā. Works on other platforms fine. Very disappointing. Is there word on a fix?
And i now became aware of an even bigger issue. Now i cant play my media library on my mobile devicves at all. Conversationerror transcoder exited due to an error. This is crazy. I havent noticed before because iwas busy deploying jellyfin and tvheadend but didnt bother to check since it works fine on my laptop but i just tried to play a video on my phone while i was waiting for something and this happens???
Crazy
Live TV is broken for me as well. The guide data does not show and I canāt tune any channels even though they all work on my TV.
This app is should not have been rolled out. It feels like a huge step back.
Server is 1.41.5
Number of issues with Live TV on my side -
When it was kinda āworkingā with the new app:
Guide would take a very long time to load and my iPhone/iPad would get really hot - seems like the guide is not being loaded optimally or in a paginated sense.
For a lot of TV Channels I would get no playback - only a CoreMediaErrorDomain exception.
For a small number of channels I would get video with no sound.
Current state:
Guide will not load at all - presumably because the number of channels I have has ballooned by an extra 50 or so in the past few days.
So Live TV is completely unusable for me at the moment - it does work fine on tvOS oddly enough so I can watch on my Apple TVs.
What is Plexās typical response to this type of thing, do they usually fix critical bugs fast? I switched from Emby and then Jellyfin about six months ago due to the not there yet app experience for the Apple ecosystem; now looks like Iām back at square one.
I am having problems with my Android app it wonāt start any movies at all is anybody else having this issues.
No problems on Android with movies or recorded TV for me, so far. Just Live TV is borked, as it is on iOS for everyone.
Apparently, Iām the exception to the rule, my LiveTV (via an SD HDHR Extend Tuner) works just fine; I suspect itās because Iām using the Extendās internal HW transcodingā¦
Iām not having problem with the cellular but Iām having problem when Iām at home and using Wi-Fi the only thing I can see is a black screen and the sound.
I thought I was going mad. Live TV from my HD Homerun isnāt working at all. I think for the first day it did but everything was so terrible I gave up on using the app altogether on iOS/iPadOS. Went to try and watch a live channel this morning on my iPad, as usual switching to the live TV tab took forever, once the guide finally appeared scrolled to the live OTA broadcast channel tapped on it, got the indicator the app was buffering the stream but no picture, no sound, nothing. Tried on my iPhone, still nothing however the server dashboard shows the channel as playing. What is interesting is if I change to one of the FAST Plex channels, it seems to play with no issues, however if you try to change back to the local channel guide the entire app freezes up and the guide remains as is.
I seem to have had some accidental success today⦠So my configuration is tv aerial to Tvheadend and using antennas to feed into plex, however I have problems with this because Iām in the UK and for some reason my tv aerial canāt pick up BBC channels⦠But I pay my tv license so I was determined to get BBC.
So running tvheadend into xteve (or threadfin, Iām using xteve as I had it installed anyway) to run BBC via IPTV and my TVHeadend playlist into plex, its now working because I have buffering enable in xteve.
Its a volatile setup, but its working
I cannot get live TV to work at all now on IOS:
The operation couldnāt be completed.
(CoreMediaErrorDomain error
1718449215.)
Initially it worked with the upgraded app but with no sound.
Everyone works fine on a web browser.
Letās hope this gets fixed soon.
Oh I donāt know how but I turned off auto updates on my iPad and itās updated the app anywayā¦ā¦ so yeah, now itās not working properly one either of my devices.
Cheers plex
I raised these issues also over on this thread - [Bug] LiveTV EPG has no channel names iOS & Android & Web Player - #9 by StealingTime
Itās hot mess for sure. Has anyone got the v16.0 app that is rolling out right now? Is anything fixed on the LiveTV front? I TRULY canāt believe they havenāt stepped up and rolled out a legacy app version for the time being so people can get along. This is a pretty active community and if it was easy enough for us to be able to test and aid the developers without completely sacrificing our actual usage, theyād get plenty of helpā¦Iād donate time to helpingā¦
I installed the new iOS app but nothing has been fixed on the Live TV end. All of my HD Homerun tuner channels are still showing Unknown Airing and then I get an error when trying to click on a channel I even tried to unseat the Tuner from plex and reinstall everything, rescanning and updating the guide. Nothing still.
Still broken on v16 with CoreMediaErrorDomain Code 1718449215 error.
Has anyone else tried resetting the cache in the iOS app under settings > Advanced⦠mine seems to be working after doing so.
I have to select a channel which gives me a black window, and after about 3 or 4 seconds if I tap right into the centre of the black video window, I get a spinny wheel and then the video will start playing.
Resetting the cache does not fix it for me, I just get the error I mentioned where the video would be.
