2025.15.0 (1053) iOS roll out broken live tv playback for anyone else?

Still broken here. Running Plex on UGreen DXP4800+ in docker. HDHomerun Quad Tuner. All worked fine before the big update. Plex doubled the lifetime subscription then totally ignored their user base. Disappointed is an understatement

any normal development team would roll back app version. figure things out, then update… but this incompetent team just keeps broken builds up…

If you play something on Live TV on another device (Roku for example), then try to play the same thing on mobile (iOS), it will ALWAYS go to playing from begining, so if you started Roku stream 40 minutes ago thats where iOS app will start, it will tell you that you arent live, but there is no option to go Live, nor does dragging the scrub bar works, it just resets back to 40 minutes ago no matter where you select.

Also, no longer can you edit the DVR Time Before/After, that whole menu is gone. So If I set something to record on iOS app, there is no way for me to do like I used to on old app, go to recording options and add 45 minutes to recording in case there is overtime or something in a sports game. As workaround I have to find a PC, log in via PC and do it there (via web browser). This features used to be there and work perfectly on old iOS app.

What an absolute flustercuck this is. Live TV is now completely unusable now the Mrs has updated the plex client on her iphone. That’s all she uses it for too.

Wonderful. /s

so on the new Beta sound is working now 2025.22.0! got the update yesterday, installed it and tried it today. Sound working on all channels, no needing to tweak any settings, it just works. Although sound settings are still noticeably missing from Video & Audio in settings… But I’ll take a win. Now they just need to fix the speed of the app as it is so slow when switching between menu items and when loading the guide, or going into a show and selecting an item. However the no sound issue continues on AppleTV app in preview.

Can confirm it’s working for me on 2025.22.0 via TestFlight too

Yes, Finally version 2025.22.0 is working for me as well.

HDHomeRun CONNECT QUATRO, and UNRAID Plex Docker

Now they just need to fix how sluggish the new app is! On first load of this new version it took nearly a min to load the favourite channels guide after switching from the full guide on iPad Pro (M1).

2025.22.0 does not work for me on iOS. Recorded live TV works fine, but can’t watch live: ā€œA server with the specified hostname could not be foundā€.

Works fine on Apple TV.

I am also having the same issue. 2025.22.0 does not work. HDHomeRunDuo.

Doesnt work for me either ā€œA Server with the specified hostname could not be foundā€. when attempting to watch live tv on ios devices. Version 2025.24.0 (1235).

Turning off local network in settings>apps>plex has worked for me on both my iPhone and iPad. It takes about 10-15 seconds for the live tv show to load but it finally loads without an error message.

Previously I turn the web page (app.plex.tv) into an app to watch live tv but finally got the official app to work.

Turning OFF my iphone’s WiFi connection to my local network (it switches to only cellular connection) caused the Live TV feature to work! If you have unlimited cell data, and just need this to work for a game or two this isn’t too bad of a hack.

I can confirm this. Mobile data connection is working picture+sound.

At home in with WiFi connection liveTV is broken. Direct on/off, quality max./480p, etc. make no change. Always

A server with the specified hostname

could not be found.

Can confirm that after disabling the Local Network and switching to cellular, the app works BUT I can only switch one channel. If I want to change the channel the ā€œserver with the specified host name could not be foundā€ appears again. I have to close the app (swipe up) and when I start a new instance the first channel I chose will work.

My live tv just stoopped after years of no issues

iPad streaming OPUS and media won’t start. Is there a fix coming for this?

Running iOS 2025.25.0 (1245) and have noticed live TV playback of 1080 sources via direct play does not work correctly. However, if I transcode to 720p the playback will start. I’m curious if others experience the same thing? Might explain why some are reporting this working on a mobile connection which uses 720p by default.

I’m also affected by this. The reason seems like iOS absolutely wants to convert 1080i to 1080p, but my server has video conversion disabled so it errors out.

(no I cannot enable it, not enough power, nor should I have to.)
