Woof @sa2000 I appreciate you wanting to get into the nitty-gritty of where it was fixed (if so) but from my perspective, having it fixed is what is important. I keep a tab group open of all outstanding issues in my world (it’s how I know what to keep nagging ) and this is the last remaining one, which is why I have been picking at it. This is actually runner-up to the longest issue I have ever had to troubleshoot, which is also a Plex issue that went on for over two full years.
Let’s just say that I feel the need to protect our lifetime memberships here even if it takes a lifetime to do so.
Anyways, one step at a time here. I’ll keep an eye on this and will update here accordingly.
This is looking very promising now with 1.31.x. I have been running two Roku devices concurrently with transcoding HD channels (NBC + CBS) and have not encountered any issues. Usually running these two channels concurrently would hit an exception in a few hours maximum.
Plex streams for so long now that there is a message that displays asking if we want to continue streaming. This had never happened before (it would crash before this point, usually) and I had to mark the channels as safe to always stream.
I have done this all week without issue, for many hours of the day, some days going over 8. I am happy with this and am ready to tempt fate even further here by declaring this issue fixed in 1.31.x.
@sa2000 I very much appreciate your patience and professionalism in dealing with me. I know I get a little cranky, and believe it or not I try to be patient/professional, too. Plex is shaping up to be one heckuva product now. You and the team there should be proud.
