3D movies issue

Hello

So recently I bought a 4K projector that allows 3D movies at 1080p and I was kindly surprised that Plex plays these movies (although the player UI is completely broken in 3D mode)
Some movies plays fine, mostly animations, they are displayed as being 1080p movies so Plex match the resolution at start, allowing 3D to operate.
However, on some recent releases such as Avengers Endgame or Blade Runner 2049, Plex sees them as 4K movies, although 4K 3D is not a thing I guess (probably because SBS (Side by Side) 3D movies are 3840x1080 ?), so I have to change the entire Android’s display resolution to 1080p and disable Plex’s resolution matching.

I have a separate library for 3D and non-3D content so no media confusion

Is there any server-side workaround to fix this ?

Plex Media Server has no functionality for 3D movies, neither do any of our apps. (Our old VR app used to but we don’t make that any more) It just sends the image as it just like it was a regular 2D movie. Your need set your TV in 3D mode manually.
