Im running plex server on a windows machine.
im running the client on a nvidia shield.
and im watching with a sony projector (3D capable ofc)
i want to be able to play 3D MVC, but afaik thats not possible with plex, am i right?
Or have someone found a way to do it, that dont involve getting a samsung tv?
If there is no way of doing it in Plex. How have you, that watches 3D MVC solved it? Are you using a second (other) device? Or moved to full htpc setup?
Half-SBS (or OU) isnt an option, as i find the quality to be worthless.
And last, please please please add support for 3D MVC in plex!
(No, even how much you haters want 3D to be dead, its not.)
This is a function of the client’s hardware and most clients are not capable of decoding MVC. Last I looked there was no software decoder that could decode MVC so a software approach to adding this to any client is a non-starter. That just leaves those which can do it in hardware and that list is quite small.
Yeah it is. The availability of 3D BDs after 4Ks came out has fallen like Wile E. Coyote after walking off a cliff. It stayed aloft for a while but eventually fell and crashed into a crater in the ground. It’s also difficult to find new 3D TVs these days. The industry has moved on to the next thing they can market which is 4K.
dont want to be rude., but either your ignorant or a troll.
both ecually stupid seeing as you’re an employee at plex.
if 3D would be dead, then there wouldnt be any movies coming out in 3D. And it does.
“Alita: Battle Angel” beeing one of them.
So sure, maybe its not as big as it was right after avatar came out. but dead, not so much.
wouldnt know how the 3D TV market is, since im using a projector for my movie-watching. and have been doing that about 15-20 years. and since 3D came out big (avatar) there has been no problem finding a projector that has 3D capabilites.
but anyhow, thanks for the information about the Sw/Hw . Guess i have to find a mediaplayer that plays 3D MVC, like zidoo z9s or himedia x10 or something.
