4k HDR files no longer direct play

Hi everyone

Looking for some help regarding my Plex setup no longer being able to direct play the majority of my 4k HDR media files. I run the server from my win11 PC into Nvidia shield pro–>Denon1600x → LG C1 . When attempting to play a file the screen goes black with the orange loading circle but doesnt progress from there, sometimes even crashing plex forcing a restart. Changing the audio track from TrueHD 7.1 to AC3 will allow it to play no problems. To be clear this has only become an issue within the last few days. All of my components support HDR, Dolby Vision, True HD 7.1, Dolby Atmos etc and I have previously not had any problems direct playing these files.

Any help with this would be awesome!

Nvidia Shield Dolby TrueHD playback is borked

Server Version#: 1.25.6.5577 Player Version#: 8.31.0.31102 I note that the most recent player update for the Nvidia Shield supposedly improved payback of Dolby TrueHD, however the complete opposite is what you have achieved. Any MKV with TrueHD, whether playing the TrueHD track or the embedded AC3 track, results in stuttering of the sound and video after a period of time. It is as if buffering is occuring. I’m observing the exact same behaviour. The ones thatI can get to play transcode both video and audio. It appeared to have started when I updated to the “watchlist” version of media server.

I am too… in the same way if I switch to 5.1 audio it works. Otherwise I get the orange spinning indicator and the movie doesn’t start… Help!
