Playback won't start on some some files with TrueHD

I am having an issue where playback will not begin, just a spinning circle, but I never get an error message. It will just keep spinning for minutes if I let it. If I change audio track from TrueHD to AC3, playback begins immediately. However, TrueHD audio direct plays on similar content (direct playing both video and audio) with no issues.

I am using the 2019 nvidia shield pro. I’m using high quality HDMI cables (48gbps) but as I said earlier, I’m getting 4K/Atmos playback on some files so don’t think its related to cables. Audio is going to Sonos Arc.

It’s an issue with Plex servers and Plex is completely ignoring the issue. Don’t waste any more time diagnosing because once again, Plex screwed up.

I had the same issue, and as was mentioned, the Beta version fixed my problem.

I signed up for the Beta program on my phone, then after a bit, my Shield showed an update available for Plex.

The Beta fixed my problems.

Do you need to have Plex Pass for this?

I logged into my Google account on my phone in bed and hit Become a Tester. I’m unable to test it on my Shield Pro as I’m in bed :rofl:

Confirmed the beta resolved this issue for me as well.

This is a new issue as well on a Shield Pro. Everything had been working flawlessly up until perhaps last week or so. PMS indicates nothing is playing. The logs don’t necessarily suggest there’s any issue as well. Was on 9.0.5.something and just updated to 9.0.6.31998 with no change.

I’ve just signed up for the beta so as soon as it comes through, I’ll update and confirm. No idea if 9.0.6 is the beta or not but not looking promising.
